Bent still has a good goalscoring record (apart from last season where he basically got frozen out) I think he could do a job for us and its a realistic signing. Who would you want instead?

Personally dont think Distin is good enough if we seriously want to challenge top 4.

Also yeah I would do everything I could to get rid of Heitinga but I would be bringing in a player for the first 11 as his replacement. We wont improve by bringing in squad players.

We need to improve on Howard, Distin, Osman, Jelavic. Plus a replacement for Fellaini. Out of the above only Howard should be in our first 11 next season

Or, he's the same age as Distin was when he came from Portsmouth.

In fact, he's slightly younger than Jagielka and therefore can be argued to be lowering the overall age of the squad. Now that cant be a bad thing!

Some people are determined to have a go at the new Everton manager. We have a wafer thin squad and he's trying to build it up...and our new manager gets slammed for it...even before it's happened!!

I bet there's hardly anyone here knows what Alacarex plays like. He's 30 and plays for Wigan. That's the basis for complaint. Well, he's the same age as Jagielka and used to play for Brugges...if that helps.

Just because people don't want him doesn't mean they know nothing about him. You're not the fountain of all knowledge mate. Other people know things too. He went on loan to Fiorentina when he was younger. Didn't get a game. Boom.

The fact he played for Brugge ages ago doesn't really mean anything. I'm basing my not wanting him on and the fact he was sh*te for Wigan as that's who he played for most recently. I'm not arsed how he played when he was at Beira-(ye)Mar. It doesn't count for anything.

Yeah 2 seasons ago mate, whereas last season he was badly gash. He's got an ego the size of Stanley Park, is on £65k per week, has a year left on his contract & has said he won't re-sign - therefore for all of those reasons, he's got to go.

If Martinez rates Alcaraz highly & wants to bring him to replace him, then it's his call & I'll trust his judgement.

How does playing for Brugge mean 'nothing'? I means something, surely? Hand on heart mate, you know next to **** all about Alcarez really dont you?

I'm not saying i want to keep Heitinga mate. It was just an example of using a players longer past as a reason to sign someone. I wouldn't want us to sign Heitinga now based on last season!

You're right though. If Alcaraz does sign of course i'll support him.

Roberto Martinez knows a lot more about him than I do!
