He played for Brugge 3 years ago mate. Pretty sure whatever form he had then will have changed. And I think we all know the Belgian league isn't really all that is it?

Either would be perfect for us. But as you say badly unrealistic.

I like the sound of this Wilfred Bony guy as a proper answer mate. But honestly don't know too much of him. Dutch Toffee rates him and that's a good sign.

The Mirallas saga was epic last summer but my favourite ones always tend to be the ones who don't sign for us such as Leroy "bought his bird a horse" Fer, Lewis "likes Arsenal's style" Holtby and Vitor "hot laser" Pereira.

Say we ship out £65k a week Heitinga for £3m. Alcaraz would get about half of Heitinga's wage, BUT, that £3m, can go with whatever other funds we have to strengthen other areas.
Our CB partnership now is one of the best in the League, he is simply backup, doesnt bother me too much. CB isnt a position we need strengthening, but its a position we need depth in if Heitinga is leaving.
Buy quality elsewhere, we already have enough of it at CB.

At least there's achance he might be good next season. He was the one before last so there is hope!

It's very rare I won't want Everton signing a player with a Z in their name. But not this.

Heitinga doesn't want to be here, He's told us sell him or he's off. We must get shut this summer, he's on too much money anyway, we can't afford his wages. That's part of the reason I'd sell Fellaini as well.

First of all, he won't be 4th or 5th choice since Johnny is leaving. He will be 3rd choice CB.

Second, on what ground that make you think he will be on 15k a week?

I am slightly disappointed with this signing especially he could be Martinez's first signing. I think we need a replacement for Distin not another aging squad player.

I think it was Sheedy who said this a few days ago when he said he would be our 1st signing, he's certainly only on that now.

How do you know he won't be 4th or 5th choice centre half. We don't, but I would expect Martinez to give the youth a chance and as someone who has seen a lot of Duffy, has always spoke very highly of him, I expect him to quickly prove to Martinez he should be closer to 1st team starts than he has been.

I agree a replacement for Distin is needed but I would saying there other positions more important at the moment where we are glaringly lacking. Usually signing a centre half takes time to work on the partnership etc which I don't think many of our fans will give Martinez. Imagine he drops Distin and gets rid of Heitinga and the new partnership starts like Jags and Distin did last year, he will get slaughtered. He's got to go with tried and tested at the moment in that area imo.
