If we don't need the money and the lads are still under lengthy contracts why are we even considering selling this late. We are a football team first so surely the priority would be having the best possible group of players on the pitch, not turning a profit on player trading. Selling now, with no time to reinvest properly will severely harm our season. We should put our own deadline at the end of July and refuse to talk to anybody or consider bids after that date

Top post. It is just a plain stupid thing to do if Kenwright sells any of our best player at this stage.

Every transfer window when we sell a player Iread the same old drivel from the same old posters.
From McFadden,Lescott,Rodwell,Arteta,Gosling,Ruddy, there's always an uproar and the players we sign are never good enough.
Along with the annual stories of a rift between the board and the manager, followed by predictions of relegation, bankruptcy etc.
Yawn !!

Not so sure mate, defo three years ago, but never really came back to the level he was at before he got that bad injury a couple of seasons ago.

I watched the first leg against Shaktar and he was poor. Lennon dropping him to the bench for the second leg maybe indicates he could be released. I think it's just a matter of time with injuries like he had. You dont lose the ability. He's back playing first team football and for the ridiculous prices quoted elsewhere for less experienced players he'd be an excellent addition.

Kenwright can't stop the pending sale....The reality is that agents and players hold every single card. All Bill can do is hold them at bay for the very highest price, ensure the plan to replace is robust and ready to be sprung immediately, and continue to show Moyes to all and sundry for what he has become.

Not in this case they don't, as both players are on long contracts. Bill can simply do what the ****e have done over Suarez & refuse to sell. The choice is his.

If the player wants to leave now, Kenwright has to force him to hand in a transfer request. No loyalty bonus whatsoever. Plus the player is still under contact till summer 2016. I don't see why Kenwright cannot play hard balls here.

According to the papers chelsea want 5 million for moses for a season long loan and 3m for demba ba

If that's true we should rip their arm off for Ba, even if the price was double we should actually. As much as I would like Moses, that's silly money

Hope it will not be mc c. and barry but only one. Would prefer a more attacking midfielder. In cahill felli mood. Toivonen of PSV but maybe not good enough

Oh god has it got to the point where we are so nailed on to signing mcarthy that people are now trying to convince themselves he's actually boss.

There's precious little evidence of his supposed competencies, even his Youtube videos just show him passing the ball backwards constantly.

McCarthy being described as a "Special" player...hahaha. That's exactly what he is not.
He doesn't score many, doesn't really create, he's not exactly a sit and protect the back four player... so what exactly is special about him?? He's decent at most things but doesn't excel at any, in my opinion anyway.

cos youtube is the best way to evaluate a player mate, cmon your better than that line of thinking

The problem with Youtube videos is that they normally consist of only a player's highlights and tend not to show their utter crap moments. The concern is that McCarthy's highlights consist of him passing the ball backwards over and over again, as if that was some kind of impressive accomplished achievement.
