The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

I don't advocate the signing of Kone as I believe it is bad business (although I do believe he would improve squad depth) but lets just say we keep Fellaini and sign Honda, in a addition to Kone and Alcaraz would people be happy with that?

I think if that happened we would already be stronger than last season providing we can get a couple of loan signings to fill the gap too. Joel Robels? Victor Moses?. Either way I'm looking at it positively and thinking the likes of the two Wigan lads are squad fillers, sort of like the crap but useful Christmas present you get before you get the real deal.

Come on you guys, Martinez has not even started working yet and some of you are already moaning! Incredible!

If it's Alcaraz and Kone then Martinez clearly believes they can step up. IMO both players are good enough to be pushing for starting places.
- Alcaraz has something which neither Jags or Distin - the ability to bring the ball forward from the back.
- Kone I've been impressed with numerous times last season, just look at how he destroyed us in the league. So what if he is 29-30, so was Campbell and he saved our balls.

If he is looking at McGeady then I believe it's because he wants to move Pienaar into a central position and have pace on the wings in the shape of McGeady and Mirallas.

And if Fellaini leaves then add Honda, loan for Moses, McCarthy, Fer and we would be in better shape than last year.

That could possibly be the case, along with a good summers rest he's had.

But will he get the opportunity? If Martinez blows 5-6 million on Kone you'd think he will be starting him and I'm not sure he'll play both of them together.

Jelavic being benched won't lighten his mood will it.

Jela will get time. And Kone Jelavic pair might not be so **** that peeps here seem to think.
But ofcourse i would like to see forward who is priced over £10m. Marquee if you will

Whoever we get, I expect them to be of a standard which will have us really pushing for top 4. I think Honda is good enough to help us do that, Kone I'm not so sure. He is certainly good enough to help us maintain top 7, but I think we should be aiming higher.
Keeping Fellaini would be great, selling him and buying a couple of 10M players such as Fer & Negredo wouldn't be a bad thing either though

Negredo is a pipe dream. Every team in Europe would want him and would have actual money to offer in exchange for his services.

The Mirror reports we will have signed Alcarez and Kone by tomorrow. Shocking, disgusting, worst possible transfers and what a way to make an introduction as manager.

The Mirror though......

Mate you beleive too much. You beleived Stubbs. Now this. And probably some other stuff too.

Kone isn't the worst possible transfer either. Imagine getting Jeffers back. That's defo worse.

I think this is the worst possible outcome. When was the last time Everton sign more than one player from the same club in one transfer window? And if we break this record from getting players from the mighty Wigan, I will be fuming! Seriously Wigan players to improve our squad?

Mate, for a club of our stature and European qualification ability, we should be moving for players that are a cut above this. We need a CF but Kone isn't the right man. He won't suit Everton. Alcarez, it goes without saying, he couldn't lace any of our defenders boots.

Martinez said he will take his time and find players that are right for Everton. If this is true, not many fans will be happy as spending £6m for Kone is bad business.
