The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

I see mate.

I will keep Jelavic. If we need to sell one of the striker, I rather we sell Anichebe.

Bony and Guidetti are good players.

The problem I see with jelavic is can you really see him fitting in as the lone striker in a Martinez team? I can't tbh, he lacks all the attributes needed to play with the football on the ground. I think Martinez will sell him I really do...

If a super sub/squad player is needed, I'd keep vic over jelavic any day. Vic has proven over the years he's a threat from the bench, jelavic is not and is on too much money, and worth 5M or so to use him in that role.

I don't buy he's had a bad season for various reasons and will come good in a new season. I think he'll be the same because he's not a top striker.

Would any of the teams above and around us be going again with jelavic after a season like that? I don't think so...we shouldn't either!

Mate, for a club of our stature and European qualification ability, we should be moving for players that are a cut above this. We need a CF but Kone isn't the right man. He won't suit Everton. Alcarez, it goes without saying, he couldn't lace any of our defenders boots.

Martinez said he will take his time and find players that are right for Everton. If this is true, not many fans will be happy as spending £6m for Kone is bad business.

I absolutely don't disagree that we should be looking at better players than them. But they don't even play for us yet.

I'll fume if and when they do.

And there a far worse players we could get than Kone.

I think this is the worst possible outcome. When was the last time Everton sign more than one player from the same club in one transfer window? And if we break this record from getting players from the mighty Wigan, I will be fuming! Seriously Wigan players to improve our squad?

It's not though is it?

Here's some players we could sign instead of Kone:
Adam Le Fondre
Grant Holt
Marouane Chamakh

I'm bored now. There are loads of players who are worse but would cost a similar amount.

I'm not saying Kone is a good signing mate, but there are certainly worse scenarios out there.

I mean if we are getting a couple of signings from Wigan. Are we that small time?

Don't look at like a glass half empty point of view, there are worse players we could get but we shouldn't be thinking like that, we shouldn't just be accepting it. I understand you'll also be unhappy but we as fans need to shake off this 90's era fixation that some of us are still believing we are and say "Look, we have moved forward since then and we are now a top 4 chasing team. Alcarez? Kone? Are you having a laugh Mr Manager? These players belong at a mid table safe club they aren't going to push Everton into Europe."

Leighton Baines came from Wigan

Man United bought Valencia from Wigan.

This doesn't warrent us to get Wigan players because most of them aren't good enough for PL football. We are not getting Baines and Valencia now. As I said, I can't remember the last time we bought two players from one club in a transfer window. I hate to see we do this on Wigan.

He's clearly bringing them in because he knows what they can do, and he knows he can rely on then when they're needed, theres absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just think, these are getting brought in WITHOUT a player sale to bolster the squad and im happy with that, we moan about our squad being small and ****e, we bring in two players of decent quality and people moan. The only thing that bothers me about Kone is the price, other than that its not as bad as you lot are making out.
When someone gets sold the real quality will start coming to Everton. Sort the squad depth out now with what little money we have, sort out the quality problem when a big sale happens, simple.

Welcome to Everton FC Alacarez and Kone. An upgrade on the woeful Heitinga and Jelavic. Let's just hope we can shift the latter two out and get some more in.

Most mediocre - crap clubs have talented players in their first team and it will always be that way. I'm talking about the individuals and not the club. They are diabolical signings if it happens.

What's this Redmond fella like?

£6.5million release clause. If the manager spends this amount on him, I really doubt his ability in scouting.
