He's clearly bringing them in because he knows what they can do, and he knows he can rely on then when they're needed, theres absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just think, these are getting brought in WITHOUT a player sale to bolster the squad and im happy with that, we moan about our squad being small and ****e, we bring in two players of decent quality and people moan. The only thing that bothers me about Kone is the price, other than that its not as bad as you lot are making out.
When someone gets sold the real quality will start coming to Everton. Sort the squad depth out now with what little money we have, sort out the quality problem when a big sale happens, simple.

Sense at last.... it makes me cringe when you see comments that we should go and buy 20 million pound srtiker, with what? he will have a budget and he will have to spend it wisely, do you take the chance and go and buy a talent that has never plied his trade in the prem only to fail, ie Borinni 15 million, we cannot afford to bed a player in, we have to hit the ground running and cannot afford to give a new buy 12-18 months to bed in. We lack goals in an otherwise performing team.... two options, buy absolute quality , do we have the money? will they come to us with NO european football? we are not in the SKY big 5-6 teams. The other option is to source a player who knows the prem and can hit the ground running. Knoe would be a good purchase, he causes trouble and knows where the net is. We all know Jela is talented but Moyseys tactics has destroyed him and I am not to sure if he will fit Martinezs style but only time will tell.

For me i would take a gamble for this year and strengthen others areas of the pitch and run with Kone and another new striker, you never know he could be a Marcus Bent trademark signing.....

cuz from what you say he brought in loads of class players so must have had a team that should have stayed up!

Im 100% certain we'll have some exciting players joining Everton this Summer, 100%.

He has averaged better than 1 goal in 3 at his previous clubs (other than his spell at Sevilla)

He will get us goals, lots of them and could well help jelavic discover his form.

The simple fact that he couldnt attract the proper quality players to a Club like Wigan, he can here. i.e. Bruno Manga.

I just think the price is wrong for kone and I don't think you can have jelavic and kone in the same squad both standing us at around 5M. There's only room for 1 plus vic plus another striker coming I'm also.

I dont agree with the price mate, do think its a bit much for a 29yr old BUT, Kone is most definitely not a bad player. Wigan played us 3 times last season, 3 times Arouna Kone tore us to ****ing shreds.

But that mainly based on our strict medical. Which you need actual superman powers to pass it seems.

Wigan as a club isnt a very attractive proposition is it?! Lets be honest its not, so if a player says no, a player says no, what can he do about it?! Absolutely nothing. He can only go out and get what the Club can attract.

He's at Everton now, he's got the name behind him, he'll attract and get much better players here than he ever did at Wigan.
