Kone has scored 1 in 2.75 games everywhere he has been except Seville HE GETS GOALS

Alcaraz is a free

Mcgeady is a former 9mil winger who is loved by his present club and will in my opinion form a great "bainaar" partnership with coleman.Mcgeaman or Coleady perhaps..............

Would like to see what mirallavic could do for us up front as well.

Yes McGeady is better than Naismith but we don't need small improvements - we need big ones if we're going to challenge. We need to find better

Our aim is to try and improve on 6th, which is going to be really difficult to do, especially as all the 5 clubs that finished above us are going to spend like pissed up pirates on shore leave.

If you expect us to make much more ground on the teams above us then you are probably in for a disappointing season.

However, if you expect us to maintain the staus quo with those below us and hopefully have a decent cup run, then I see no wrong in these additions to an already talented squad, which will also have a couple of younger players like Barkley and Stones also pushing for a first team spot.

McGeady will not light up the premiership and he never will. We need to find another Mirallas or someone with potential like Redmond (he's a bargain at £2.5-3m)

I don't understand how people can use "McGeady is better than Naismith" as an arguement to justify his signing. We need better.

People saying Kone is great becuase he scored against us...see fkin Johnny for that mess.

Some would be best served to bite there tounge before they annoint these new players as good players.

Time and results will tell.
Maybe heed you're own advice mate.....stop knocking said players until they have proven they are not good enough.

In fact, I get a bit of a chubby on just thinking about Coleman Mcgeady overlap

I quite rate Kone and think we may well sign him. Pretty sure lcab is just pissing in the wind here though. Announcing three signings on Monday? Dream on.

Let's be honest here, most of us would've been laughing our tits off had these 3 been the RS's first signings of the summer

Kone could turn out to be good but I agree - the teams above us are hardly going to be fearful of these signings. If this is how Martinez thinks £9m is well spent then I'm not impressed

Alcaraz would alright, Kone would be good and McGeady would be a bit sh*t. Overall - MEH. The ages are a bit worrying from a financial point of view. What if Kone and McGeady don't work out? No sell-on value. I'm going to say it: I don't think Moyes would have touched any of these three, bar possibly Alcaraz and before people kick off about me bringing Moyes up, his standards have to be kept in the transfer market if we're even to tread water here.

I still think we need a special striker if we're going to get into the top 4 at any point. Even just a Yak of 2008 would be brilliant. A young player like Bony would be fantastic. I don't think Kone will be that, but he will be an improvement. No doubts there.

Unless these cats are coming in to beef the squad up a bit before we bring in a Honda, Bony or some marquee signing of that ilk, I am going to assume this is going to be all we have to spend. In which case, unless Kone starts lashing them in left, right and centre, we can forget about the top 4. Top 6 would be on though, as long as we only sell John.

Good post. We seem to be happy that Kone will score 10-12 goals a season for a couple of years. We need someone to get close to 20 goals a year.

Aren't you the fool who said he wouldn't support our new manager ?

Hmmm.
