He could yes, but then he looks like a cnut, nobody likes to look like a cnut.

He looks less of a cnut after the clause, cos, you know? Yeah?

Why does he look less of a cnut after the clause?

I'm not taking the p1ss i just genuinely dont understand why it makes any difference whatsoever?

The only thing the clause does is limit what we can receive for him....that doesnt mean we have to accept less after it expires

When the clause is in play, any club can match the value set by the clause and then speak to the player. We can't say no.

Once the clause has expired, we have the right to refuse any bid.

yeah thats my understanding of it, dont see how the clause expiring could see us lose him for less in any way

Really?

Of course it doesnt mean we have to accept less, but then again, it does appease the fans a little, "he had a clause, it expired, so we thought the 15m plus a curly wurly over was worth accepting, something about lawnmowers, crying in his office, rape, boys pen, blab alb alblalal"

lots of inside info seems to have been leaked to members of this forum. would rather they leaked details of genuine transfer targets but I suppose makes more sense to feed random fans with secret contract details

It's soon going to be thirteen years under them. Lucky for some.

Something very wrong at this club mate. People off the wage bill earning loads, 25% increase in revenue this summer, probably about £35-40M coming in in player sales if the one's we expect now to go in fact go...and you know that out of that combined total of around £60M generated Martinez will be extremely lucky to get a couple of circa £10M players and a few frees and loans.

The club stinks of people doing something very suspect. There's unspecified outgoings here, that's what the layman would think and I dont see any reason to doubt it. I have no idea whether it's above board or not (no doubt they'll have some explanation for it).

We all need to keep a close eye on what the scores on the doors are when the beginning of September swings around and that window slams shut.

Nobody knows [Poor language removed] all mate, its all part of the fun

if we making it all up then I believe his contract includes a clause that means we aren't allowed to sell him to clubs that already have midfielders and that we can't sell him for less than 40 million so it looks good on his cv

Even the most ignorant of supporter is beginning to sit up and take notice as the likes of Norwich, West Ham and Swansea outspend us. That's not even including the likes of Cardiff, Southampton and Sunderland with wealthy backers and new stadia. Moyes and Neville were on tremendous wages and we've cleared them out. I seriously think Martinez' compensation payment has eaten into our transfer budget
