I would play 2 holding players. Felliani and Gibson are both excellent on the ball and neither centre halves would need to resort to hoof ball, as both these players are comfortable in possession. I would like the following formation:

Felliani Gibson

Miralles Piennar Delboy


Kone

Just think add Coleman and baines from full back. That team has a lot of creativity and protection for the back 4.
 
I think the 4-2-3-1 we played last year is fine. It's just needs tweaking and obviously fellaini not being played as ACM.

Gibson and fellaini the 2 deeper CM players
Osman, Barkley or even pienaar as the ACM.

Think Barkley will play as a deeper CM long term as well. Maybe not this season though.
 


yeah, he is a good player. Nowhere near the quality of his compatriot and former Ajax teammate Jan Vertonghen, but then again very few are. :dodgy:

He would be better than Heitinga and Vermaelen though (both ex-Ajax player as well).
