if you asked me right now though include a permanent deal for De Bruyne as part of the deal to chelsea for fellaini if they are still after him, would save any pay on to liege as well as would prob reduce the payment to about 15million and thats valuing de bruyne at about 10 or so about 3 more than what chelsea payed for hm in the first place (slap a 20% sell on to chelsea as part of the deal for him as a sweetener), the lid from benfica would prob cost around 14 million giving benfica a profit of like 5 milliomn. assuming we have in the ball park of 7-8 million and net say another 5-6 from sales of heitanga, naismith and anichebe would give us around 13 million to go get defour from porto whod cost about 8-10 maybe

so defour (8-10m)
debruyne (part ex valued at 10-12m)
Salvio (14-16m)

would cost 22-26m
Outs
heitanga (1-2m)
Naismth (1m)
Anichebe (4-5m)
Felli (12-15 m and the rest of that being the cost of De Bruyne in part ex)

so 18-23 incoming

so say we have like 8-10 in addition to sales its all deffo doable and would leave us with 4-5 million to get cover for some spots..

Howard
Coleman - Jags - Distan - Baines
Gibson
Salvio - Defour - Barkley - De Bruyne
Miralles
Jagleika

So we go into the season with our only striker being the hapless Jelavic?

One single striker?

Wow, that wouldn't even work on FM.

Miralles is more than capable of playing up front mate just means playing either osman or barkley off him, fill out with a loan deal from a big money club, lukaku, guidetti, bojan, all where on loan at places last year or so even tap up the moyes for welbeck or hernandez should utd bring in another big name, theirs nowt wrong with loaning out of your price range to buy if it gets you to where ya want to be at

Would you have any of those three mentioned mate? The only player who would be useful from Wigan's team would be Mcmannaman in my opinion.

nope. maybe alcaraz as a replacement for johnny which would save us money, but i haven't seen too much of him to comment. There's probably a reason why we let mcmannaman go, and up until 3 months ago i was unaware of who he played for after us. he's just flavour of the month.

if felli goes we need a dominating presence like his, no matter how good mccarthy is, he won't have that aura or pressence. i've also not really heard a lot about him, which given how popular the prem is and how often it is shown, says something.

I honestly believe would we have had say a lukaku or guidetti on loan last year for us then wed be in uefa or champions league this year, we where that close, and that kind of loans needed for a club like ours to be able to bridge the gap that we cant do with spending power

Nah mate, look again at his line up. He's actually had us sign Jaglieka to play up front.

I'm not sure who that is myself but let hope he's better than Jelavic!

LOL good spot that mate, last time i try typing a post whilst getting nagged in one ear about watching some **** tv show with the missus

All jokes aside though its the silly season like and if we got who i said and went into the season with jela, a loan sign of a quality lid, miralles, and take a punt on some spanish lid for 3-4 million then id be hapopy, wont happen but as i said it was a footy manager post like

I watched him play against Huddersfield on the left and he REALLY caught the eye. Not only was his close control and ability to beat a man noticeable but his passing and movement was very clever and mature. And then he played in the cup final on the right and gave Clichy nightmares.

He's only 22, he's English, he can play on both flanks, he's quick and skillful and he's an Evertonian. There aren't many reasons not to go in for him. He could be just what we need to mix it up against stubborn defences and it would be a dream to see McManaman and Barkley terrorising defences in the blue shirt for years to come. Remember what happened last time we bought somebody back from Wigan who we didn't think was going to be good enough.

I agree with you about McCarthy. He seems to be more flavour of the month. He's quite a tidy, little player but he's no game-changer and he'd probably struggle to hold down a first team place.

which will make sure his price tag is much higher than his value. i'd rather let someone else take the punt on him tbh. he's only played well for a couple of months, you can't buy people based on that

Don't think this Jagleika will be very good though, do you mate?

Nah in all seriousness, think we should concentrate on getting a proven striker first, its too much of a risk to go another season with Jelavic potentially being in this form. Think if you got rid of Defour and put De Bryne next to Gibbo and Barkley infront of them I'd be pretty happy. With the money from Not getting Defour get a striker who can get us goals, all the teams have had striker to carry them to Europe, imagine if we had one of them with the team all contributing like they do now?

So you wanna sign somebody cos they played well against Huddersfield and Gael freaking Clichy, is there a winger in the League that hasnt skinned Clichy?

Hes a 1trick pony, whos trick will be exposed very quickly.

I see Leroy Fer came off the bench for the second successive game and scored a second successive time for Holland U21s. He looks a strong, mobile midfielder and I'd love to see him in our squad.

We have no chance of signing him mate we had our chance and Redcoat blew it, I keep saying it someone like fulham or west ham will see how good he is, remember moyes went in for him, put 2+2 together and come up with next felliani, martinez wont have another big strong cm like felli in the team he will go for someone like Mccarthy

I had a dream that McCarthy signed for Manchester City and then we were playing Watford at Goodison and they were winning 5-1 and somehow McCarthy scored for Watford (even though he was at Man City) so then we marched on the pitch but I lost my seat and couldn't find my wallet:(
We must sign McCarthy!

Nightmare.
