He doesn't play in the middle, his best position is out wide either left or right where he can drift in underneath a striker. He has plenty of ability and he can play fantastic balls through to the forwards.

He is never a wide player, sorry.

And he is not better than any of our attacking players.

How many of our attacking players have scored 20 plus goals in a season? And yes, he can play wide, he's not a true winger but he can play a bunch of different positions. He is best when he can play on the left and drift inside. People would be crazy not to want him at a nominal fee.

I was thinking Osman....

But the more I think about it, the more I'm thinking its Seattle...It's where I'd choose to play if I could choose an MLS city :)

I don't want another squad striker, we need a better striker than the ones we have.
As for raising our profile in the U.S... I couldn't give a toss!! And it's CERTAINLY NOT a reason to buy a player!

I know it's gonna be Ross' season but i'd see him as more of an attacking midfield role. He's certainly better than Osman. Also, in some cases it can really help to raise a profile. For example (It wont happen but its an example) if we had Howard, Donovan and Dempsey all in the same team, the american sports channel would be begging us to sign a deal to show our matches and a LOT of people would take notice of us over their.

He has been and would be a forward in a 3 man attack. If you put a guy like Pienaar in a forward spot like against Juve, well, Dempsey is probably a better fit there. Not that I think he's coming here or that we necessarily need him.

7 goals in 29 appearances. I'd say his star is fading fast.
12 in all competitions.

I don't know if the price would be right or if he'd fit in RM's system but he is far from washed up.

Check out the second table on this page showing Total Combined Goals & Assists - All Competitions:
http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Tottenham_Hotspur_Players_Statistics_2012-13.html

Bale averaged a goal or assist every 100 minutes (first on Spurs).

Dempsey averaged a goal or assist every 138 minutes (second on Spurs).

Defoe took an extra half hour than Dempsey to get a goal/assist; the likes of Adebayor and Lennon took almost two hours of football longer than Dempsey to get one.

There is a lot more to it than just this of course ... but that's pretty damn impressive in my book and a world away from washed up or fading fast.

I'd absolutely take Dempsey if the price were right (which is a big if).

BBC Sport's Saj Chowdhury: "Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham and AC Milan have all enquired about Verona midfielder Jorginho. The 21-year-old Brazil-born Italian helped the Gialloblu win promotion to Serie A last season and is valued at 10m euros (£8.7m)."

And he is not better than any of our attacking players.

Dempsey would fit into plenty of EPL first 11s. But not ours.

If he'd "fit" in RM's plan or the price we'd have to pay are separate issues and fairly pointless to discuss since there are so many unknowns.

However in terms of his talent and his production he is far and away better than almost all our attacking options. I'll exclude Mirallas because he doesn't have enough Prem experience to compare v. Dempsey (I think Mirallas is better but I can't prove that).

If we include Fellaini as an attacking option you could make a case for him (although I think Dempsey would come out ahead based on actual facts).

The rest? Dempsey has been massively more effective than the rest of our attacking options over the past couple of seasons.

I really want to get this kid in. Of recent rumors he's been one of my favorites. Close it up RM

Every one of those teams can outbid us but I beleive that Bill,s nectar points can fight the evil of money.
