The Super Tim Cahill Thread.

Considering the amount of fluctuation in information here from those well-connected, we can only wait until Sept 1st to assess this properly. I don't think we need to replace Cahill necessarily, but if we fail to make any additions from now it will be perfectly clear that we're desperately shuffling things around due to the incorrect assumption Baines would be leaving.

Tim, for everything, thank you. The goals you scored have been priceless, and the commitment you displayed is rare in football today. You are a throwback to halcyon days - a modern legend. Your eight years have been a strange era for this club, but you have represented the idealism and faith that has got Evertonians through a lot. All the best.

Been a top player for us, scored some very important goals and he was one player you knew would give 110% every game Cheers tim lad

Personally think Moyes has allowed Cahill to go because of the emergence of Junior, the fact that Rodwell has been given the number 8 shirt and that Barkley has had another year of reserve football.

Like it or not the fact is this- we have let a 32 year old go and signed a 25 year old so far.

Absolutely devastated.

30yrs old, and didn't think I could be this gutted about a player leaving anymore.

Whether its the right decision or not, this is a sad sad day for Everton Football Club

Just been told Cahill is to be unveiled as a Red bulls player tomorrow anyone else head this?

Everybody seemed to doubt you when you broke the news. Its happened to me when when I broke the news on Fernades joining us.

Great post, good on you mate :-)

Over the years a fantastic player and one of our best buys in the last 20 years.
Probably the right time for him to go but will miss him.

Pienaar, Naismith in.

Cahill, Yobo out.

Good business.

Shame to see Timmy go. He was an absolute hero for us. But that's life, things move on.

Not only that im pretty certain the Cahill deal is a sweet heart deal with the MLS for us to sign Donovan on permo.

Reading between the lines:

He likes us, we like him.
Nike recently became our sponsers - coinicdence.
MLS get a PL high profile player with standing in World Football for a nominal fee.
His sponsers are pushing for him to go to PL.

Fully expect that hes on the way, Its on.

I don't know if it would be fair on Hibbert if Cahill was to play in his testamonial. It's supposed to be a day for Hibbert and it would be completely overshadowed by Cahill. I agree we need to have another game with him in our side though, he needs a proper send off.

It'll be good business once the Pienaar and Yobo deals are concluded. But there's a big chance we'll cock them up make no mistake.

Proper gutted here, it was inevitable like but i love the man, top evertonian, top player, top bloke.

Cornerflags in MLS beware!
