Thelwell got dealt a bad arm again, knowing we had to sell at least someone.

This has been happening for years now though, we never learn. The reality is we should have fixed in a price with Chelsea for Gordon, signed players who we needed, and then let him go.

Like Wolves did with MGW recently. Instead we’re back off to Bloated Transfer fees and hoping it works, having effectively given up the first 5 games, whilst we run the circus.

Dealmaking is about brinkmanship. That's why there's a flurry on deadline day. It's not a conspiracy.
It doesn't have to be, but when the two (or more) parties can't come together it tends to degenerate into that.

If the big sale happens, it probably happens this week now that there are supposedly two clubs in for the player. It will then get messy in the last three days of the window. A lot of the bigger leagues (both Prem and Championship, Serie A, Ligue 1, Eredivisie) have midweek fixtures next week, which could hold up or kill deals if one of the parties has a key player sustain an injury. That will probably lead to some business that would get done in the last few days going through on deadline day instead.

The plan is we eat scraps in the dying hours of the transfer window once the sky brand money has had its fill.

Remember back in July when everyone on here was saying how great it was to have a plan after we signed a couple of defenders on the cheap

Easily pleased Everton fans.

There is no plan. There was no plan. And there will be no plan. The club are an utter joke and nothing has changed from last season. Eventually you run out of room in this league and we are getting very close.

…if there is a plan in place, it’s a very poor plan.

It feels like our plan is to wait for other teams to do business, so we can take their castoffs, on loan.

Chelsea, for example, buy Aubameyang, take Broja off their hands on loan for a year.

Leaving business late when premiums are increasing isn't ideal but it isn't so easy to get the right players for the right money sometimes.

So, fine folk of Grandest Old Team forum of champions when do you reckon the “new” incomings will arrive.

The Eberton way does suggest a mad flurry on D-Day, but others remain hopeful that our DoF, who let us enter a season with Rondon as our only fit CF, will have a master plan.

And remember #BeKind

P.S. no cheese on toast option you animals

Can we recall that second part, Deadline day the Bill Kenwright way ? And if we can get £55m for Gordon then sadly take it, we need forward players that score and create and if that is the only way to do it, ffp, then do it.
But a suggestion to our board, sell him to Chelsea but keep it quiet and get replacements in first, make out he's injured, just so we don't get massively ripped off with £55m in our back pockets...

The type of players we should be interested in have been or are being hoovered up (Pedro/Newcastle looking to be the latest) so you can see us winding up with eg Maupay, an underwhelming Ligue1 reserve his team wants to shove out, Januzaj on a free & Gueye to distract us all from just how bad our attacking business (sales vs buys) will have been.

The thought that the club has any plan of any kind is the only joke here.

Sell Gordon, its silly money being offered, but I dont see us replacing his, never mind Richarlisons who we still haven't replaced, output and work rate.

We have no succession plan for anything in our squad, can and point we are potentially finally replacing Gana with Gana - but we can't even get that over the line.

We are awful, absolutely awful when it comes to transfers.

1 point out of 9 suggests you could be right but I think we did enough in those games to feel a bit unlucky especially vs Forest.
