i was there a few years ago with the child.not as built up as the other islands but grand all the same.we stayed in oasis dunas and it was a grand spot.
Its funny how when you talk to others about things how you get to find out about issue that matter to you.
Just a casual mention about the island to a guy I deal with through work, and he lit up like a beacon and he promises me a brilliant time. I'm going there because I need a dose of winter sunshine and Egypt is still off limits, for me at least. Cape Verde whilst nice, with its six hour flight time and still relatively spartan surrounds doesn't have the wow factor.

heat probably won't be to bad at that time of year.it was 36 degrees the time we were there and of course mr clever which would be me didn't bother with the suncreen first day.got fooking burnt alive.have a good one over there.drink a pina colada for me.

Off to Vancouver next week for a conference and then Scottsdale, Arizona the week after. Looking forward to Vancouver as the waterfront seems to have some good bars, not sure about Scottsdale but it is 34 Deg C!!

..off to Dublin in a few weeks, looking forward to a drinking and horse racing weekend with the family. I do need a holiday in the sun, though. Might leave it until January/February now, but need to find somewhere warm.

..funny enough, I looked at Cape Verde weather today and noticed a forecast of 31 degrees. I have been before, as you say there isn’t much there but a week in a nice hotel is fine. Might be an option for early New Year.

A nice pint in Peter's Pub is worth the trip to Dublin alone!

Went to the Touareg on Boa Vista. An interesting transfer to say the least. Over dirt tracks for the first half, then onto a modern motorway like route for the remainder.
The beach is brilliant but watch out for the breakers on the water.

..yep, I stayed in a Riu. Might have been the same one, although I think it was close to the airport.

Yup.
There was one right at one end of the airport. By all accounts Sal might be a better destination as there is a bit more doing in the villages.

Looking at Summer holidays for next year. I have three kids aged 9 ,8 and 5 and am considering booking all inclusive this time. It is about a grand more but would probably be better value in the long run.
Anyone else normally book all inclusive?

Get out and try the local restaurants. It's only my opinion, but I find the whole all inclusive thing a bit depressing.
