For Flights, Hotels and excursions, it's cost me £1k for 5 days, it's bloody expensive, could have went to see the Mets for less

Going to Iceland in November, gonna be awesome!

Stunning place. I did a few excursions, the Golden Circle tour being the best. Whale watching was OK, but obviously it depends if you strike lucky or not (we only saw them for about 10 minutes of the trip). I went in early June so got the midnight sun, but you should be dazzled by the Northern Lights. The nightlife isn't too expensive if you box clever: loads of bars have happy hours, and if you suss out the various time slots for each, you can plot,your bar crawl according to that and save a fair bit.

Birds, needless to say, are top-drawer and pretty sociable ;-)

It's an amazing place, incredible scenery and beautiful people. You should try some Hákarl whilst you are there! x

I shall! Any other tips? Although research makes me feel a bit ill, worth a go!

I may be making my first trip to the UK this December as it is now possible I may be moving over there as early as next summer. Won't be all fun and games since I will have to look at places to live, but what are some things I should see? I'm not into touristy things but I do love historic sites. How feasible is it to see Scotland and Ireland if I rent a car? Any info would be much, MUCH appreciated.

No I booked elsewhere unfortunately, got a hotel bang in the centre, which seems good thankfully!

Btw, for ppl doing Euro city stays, I've found BA really good to book through. I can normally get a BA flight from Heathrow (instead of easy jet from Gatwick) and a 4* hotel for not much more than an EJ fought and 3* hotel booked separately.
