Class scenes. Definitely agree about the aftermath of the Kima’s shooting. Always thought there’d be another cop shooting at some point but it’s only the corner boys who get got.my top five characters (in no particular order):
Avon
Lester
Rawls
Slim Charles
Bunny
top 3 scenes:
the immediate aftermath of when Kima gets shot - Rawls turns up and everyone is police again
Bunk and McNulty revisiting the crime scene of the girl D said he shot
the wiretap of Cheese and his dog (edit: which only just beats Cheeses speech to the co-op at the end)

Big shout out to Valchek as well. The scenes with him fuming every time he received a photo of his van.
Sopranos funnier. I dont always want to think. There arent enough laughs about. Close run thing but the soap has it...
I find it impossible to choose between The Wire and The Sopranos. I rewatched The Wire in its entirety myself a few months ago and thought it held up really well - apart from the last series obviously, which was pretty awful. Bubbles was my favourite character and the episode where he tried to kill himself was the only time I can remember crying during a TV programme. I thought Bodie was also a brilliant character and I loved the way he moved from villian (after the murder of Wallace) to man of dignity through defending his corner at the end. The depth of characters and breadth of its story lines really set The Wire apart from any other series. It had a social and political dimension to it that I've not seen in any other series, but The Sopranos had much more humour and a tighter set of characters. Both of them treated viewers as adults with brains and left story lines unresolved (e.g. the Russian in the woods in The Sopranos) or neatly wrapped up. As I say, impossible to choose between them. Both brilliant TV.
admittedly there is no scene in the Wire that is as sickly funny as these two:
This scene got me. Really enjoyed it when he got Herc (*spit) to arrest the priest.

No, we're on GOT so we have to compare them and then dive head first into whatever camp you support. Thankfully i chose the sopranos not the other side which looks like it's full of virgins who claim they've scouted every player in the Swiss 3rd division.Sopranos is about family, The Wire is purely bidness, two very different takes on a similar theme (crime & retribution)
The wire pits po-leece against the gangbangers and The Sopranos, family (famiglia) against the family (Cosa Nostra)
Very similar but a totally different dichotomy which leads to totally different shows.
Both excellent but to compare them is like apples and oranges imo.

Nah, there were Sopranos on every corner.Jeez, her voice was that bad?
You actually probably have seen in him one other role:I’ve never seen that guy in any other role. Is outstanding as Clay Davis. As are many of the sub characters.
Actually think one of the weakest actors in it was Idras Elba, who has obviously gone on to become the most famous.
