Over the last four years he's been injured 95 days on average per year. Which means on the upside he's good to play for well over two-thirds of the time.

Great value. Especially at only 20 odd million.
Remember a while ago an ex Arsenal coach blamed the injuries on the training pitches being too hard. His example was RVP who hardly kicked a ball for Arsenal but was fine once he left.

On a four year contract, 5 million per season, its a no brainier really.

Im not concerned by his injuries they have tended to be impact injuries as opposed to muscular.
He's had a light workload at Arsenal this season, who knows what that's covering up. For £20M+ we should be looking at younger and better.

Surely we have an organisation here that can go out and find that? It's a lazy arse signing from a lazy arse manager who's here short term. An utter waste long term because he's another one we'll get ten bob for when sold on.

hopefully the quicker the we get this one done the quicker we move on to a left back

didn't sam say something like "one at a time" in regards to transfers, that gives us hope a LB might be next ( best had be or im gonna fume )

See him going in on the right wing Dave? Not sure how it will turn out tbh, hope it hits the ground running as hes scored goals at the highest level so has the quality

Never rated him. Speed merchant with limited technique, he’ll do something great followed by misplacing 15 passes. He’s spent 12 years at Arsenal and hasn’t made the grade.

Like the majority of English players, hyped up beyond belief in the media but don’t have an ounce of the technique of our foreign counterparts.

He's been a good player without being "great" as he was touted to be as a kid. That's not his fault though, that's our hysterical media rushing to blow smoke up the arse of any English player that's in the first team and under 20. If you look at him compared to Lennon, who has been a truly bang average player, their careers don't even compare.

At that price Dave , who should we be looking at that is younger and better, not trying to be smart, just curious.

That’s a point I hadn’t even thought about. A bit part player with a proven injury record is about to be launched into a team who spend more time running back to”fall into position”. I’m sure this won’t backfire

Another £45m down the sink

Now Dave, you are not suggesting our much revered Director of Football Mr Steve Walsh has took an easy route here and purchased a established player instead of going and earning his corn and scouting a talent who could be more talented and less money?

I scoff at the idea..... as if he would ever do that... oh

:(

That I agree with because lennon is awful

He's still capable of scoring. I just question price and fitness and age. Look what we have now on our hands with Bolasie who was brought in at 28 years of age for a big fee. He's useless to us.

The spending that's going on at this club since Sam Hammam MkII turned up is shocking.

Someone needs to call a halt to this madness before it sinks us.

We needed a striker and a LB this window to get through to the summer - players we could use after this season. We dont need has beens for an arm and a leg.

WTF is going on? Its a mad hatters tea party as I see it.

No Dave but I'll give my answer.

We shouldn't be buying anyone for right wing. We have Bolasie, Lennon, Lookman and Vlasic already. We only have league games left.

We should be loaning a left back and a midfield passer.

In the summer we should be choosing our new long term manager and letting him work with the new director of football (who shares his vision for the game) and building a new team.
