He's been a good player without being "great" as he was touted to be as a kid. That's not his fault though, that's our hysterical media rushing to blow smoke up the arse of any English player that's in the first team and under 20. If you look at him compared to Lennon, who has been a truly bang average player, their careers don't even compare.

Comparing him to Lennon is a pointless act. It’s not Walcott or Lennon, there’s a shed load of fast, technically gifted players around the world. It’s why we pay the bald headed tit all that money.

Can we leave out the Lennon bashing? At his best he played at a higher level than most of the frauds in this squad will ever see. He’s also done nothing but give 100% for us and helped us out if a sticky spot in 14/15. Shown some good form under 3 useless managers. He’s the least of our problems in this squad. Actually we’ve been worse since he’s gone out of the team.

He brings pace and a good goalscoring record. He hasn't actually had a bad injury in a good while. He offers stuff we don't have.

It's not "bashing" really though. Nobody is having a go at him; it's just an acknowledgement that he's not the quality we need. Same as Niasse - no ill will whatsoever towards the guy but quite clearly we need better than him.
