This nurse Letby case

It's ok everyone, the NHS have said "lessons will be learnt".
Unfair jab that.

Albeit far senior to, and far more experienced than the guilty party, I have been in this game for 23 years.

The NHS can’t be at fault for one lone nutter like this. And what’s wrong with learning lessons? Surely that’s a way to safeguard against this in future?

Comments like these instantly and unnecessarily do down the sterling work of the team I preside over which, by the way, has a 100% positive patient feedback rate over the past 13 years.

A summary from the Czech Republic - as it's only just headlined here. A nurse, who seemed wholly unremarkable, has been found guilty of murdering seven children and the attempted murder of a further six making her the worst serial killer in recent British history.

The babies were in neo-natal care as premature births, described by one doctor who tried to raise alarms as "the safest place on Earth". I haven't read the full details of how Letby murdered the children, I've seen a couple of cases where she injected air into their veins.

Compounding the horror of the seemingly motiveless crimes, the first alarm was raised by a neonatal specialist after three suspicious deaths, later found to be murders and an additional attempted murder by Letby.

One survivor is a child born 15 weeks early, weighing just over 450g - Letby attempted to murder her three times over the course of three weeks. The child, now eight is severely disabled as a result of the attacks.

No mention of a UK state and media driven conspiracy then ?

Acknowledged. It was more aimed at the pointless senior management who trot that line out despite dismissing concerns or covering up issues in the first place.

I genuinely pity the workers on the front line. They are being royally screwed every day.

Exorcised Dave please.

High profile case. Lots of media coverage. You know the rest. Remember how the Sunday Mirror collapsed the trial against the Leeds yobs, Woodgate and Bowyer? I'm glad the paper was held to account for that - oh hang on....

UK media is, always has been, and always will be absolute trash. To make it worse it's driven people to get their "news" from Social Media... I give up... COYB!
Spot on mate.

This isn't on the NHS as an organisation, she's is clearly a psychopath and high functioning ones can hide it well.

She deserves the rope
I disagree. The senior management were persistently warned and basically threatend those who raised their concerns. This was someone who was allowed to do what they did with complete freedom granted by senior management.

OK, I didn't know that, that does change things.

Would the fault lay at the organisational procedures or at the managers in your opinion? For me it's the managers not the organisation
