Tim Cahill - an Everton executive?

Yes me too and I agree. I think I said the other day, it's a but lazy to lump him in with a lot of the fellas who are getting jobs at least partially out of charity.

He has done fantastic work over in Qatar. The big thing that strikes me, is that he was working for a country that had lots of money to throw at a problem, and getting nowhere, and he essentially started to produce results. A big part of it was him stating that money alone isnt a solution if theres no plan with it. Hes built from the ground up, and is very specific and thorough in what he looks to do. Initially he sort of said, I dont need money, we need process. Essentially he seems tailor made to suit what is needed here.

I'll be honest, the "jobs for the boys" thing works in our favour on this one. He could have his choice of clubs, and in honesty I dont think we would have much if a chance if it wasnt for his connection to the club.

I dont know what role they would earmark for him. I said the other day, I'd happily have him as an academy director, DOF, footballing side CEO or as someone who doesnt have a specific remit but is there as a problem solver. The latter would probably be my preference, with a DOF working into him.

He seems tailor made for a CEO or genuine DoF role tbh mate

Just che king out his messages, funny the other week he name-dropped three players who helices playing with at Everton (Ferguson, Arteta, Carsley)

Interesting thst two of those went on to forge a career in coaching/management away from the job for the boys easier route, and both respected and regarded as being intelligent too.

Just a small thing but shows something

Yes I'm probably being greedy in wanting say him and Ashworth, and could lead to some wire crossing, as they operate in similar way.

I've said a few times, I'd split the CEO role to a football and commercial roles. He could do the football one.

One interesting point, is more of a recruitment focussed DOF would work, like Michael Edward's.

But yes, I'd be very happy with Cahill as DOF. I also think he would speak "upwards" to Moshiri well, and tell him to butt out, which we have missed.

Jobs for the boys.
Not quite.
Cahill is a man not a boy - he’s totally focussed on being successful and goes all out to achieve it. He’s totally driven, dedicated and clearly has business acumen and understands football club dynamics. He’s everything that we’re saying the current board aren’t.

Jobs for the boys is, I agree, a dangerous approach, but not in this case.

I think he’d make a huge positive impression on the Club and stabilise us.

More freeloaders from our not so glorious past. I’d rather get actual businessmen/women in who are gonna move the club forward, not just provide sound bites and push blue bills party line down my throat.

Cahill runs the biggest club/academy in Qatar and is credited with turning around a countries fortunes. He has a business degree from Harvard University.

I mean he hasnt looked after a local charity, but he has got very good experience.

I’m not saying he’s thick, I’m saying we should be after people who know how to run football clubs. With regards to Qatar, probably impossible not to move them forward, hardly footballing heavyweights and I’m sure he’s had plenty of money to use seeing as they’ll be in spotlight for the World Cup. If he joins good luck to him, just sick of this clubs jobs for the boys culture.

Hes ran a football a football club, very successfully by all accounts.

Im not against jobs for former players if they are the right players. Players who will demand authority and instill a winning and never say die attitude. They must expect the best.

Cahill epitomises that and think he would do well. Many of the other we currently have employed, do not.
