Tim Cahill - an Everton executive?

Is that what youve heard Phil?

If so, any idea if its green lit?
Supposedly, he was at goodison yesterday along with that weasel agent Moshiri friend. I guess they are trying for a double feel good announcement.

Let's be honest though Cahill will know more about the role than Anyone at the club, so he will be writing his own job description.

I cant see him becoming comfy though, Hope not either as we need hungry people in charge.

Just pray he hit the ground running along with the new manager

In today’s world, a sporting director probably gets to work from home. If you had enough money, you could move to Cyprus and work from the beach, you’d also be able to get up at 11am and it would still only be 9am in the UK. Good work if you can get it!

But why narrow the field to just 'Ex-Everton'? In fact, why does he or anyone have to be ex Everton at all, what is the utter obsession with bringing in former players in made up roles?

I think when it comes to the DoF role we may have burnt our bridges with anyone who hasn't got an attachment to Everton. We need to show that management have stopped meddling before a decent outsider considers us.

I would be extremely comfortable if Cahill was brought in as Sporting Director.

It would also alleviate any of my concerns over either Rooney, Lampard or any other 'inexperienced' manager.

As I said in the Moshiri thread a few days back having someone with connections to wealthy folk in the Middle East only benefits us down the line if the current owners decide to sell up at some stage.

Blokes a winner as well get him in.

Cahill runs the biggest club/academy in Qatar and is credited with turning around a countries fortunes. He has a business degree from Harvard University.

I mean he hasnt looked after a local charity, but he has got very good experience.
The Belgian club, Eupen that’s board he is on now is the club we signed Henry Onyekuru from, I remember reading at the time that they have a network of feeder clubs and academies in Africa, as well as the academy in Qutar. Hopefully he can bring that kind of innovative approach to Everton or tap into their existing network, could be a useful partnership.

Can’t have it both ways.

Unsworth and sharp are jobs for the boys but because we like Cahill and baines it’s not.

The whole place is a circus, romantic old has beens appointing their mates based on memories of trying hard.

Cahill appointed because he was a good trier and went to the Middle East for a bit. What qualifies him for an exec role?

Fans on here will be saying Cahill is welcome, not because he’s actually qualified but because he did a nice bicycle kick at Stamford bridge. And we wonder why we’re not the mess we are! Liquidate the club
Nice username :coffee:

"He was appointed as Acting chief executive officer on 5 August 2008 following the resignation of Wyness. On 22 January 2009 he was appointed as CEO on a permanent basis. Upon his appointment he said: "This is a big job – one of the biggest in world football – but I can promise all Evertonians that I will work tirelessly for the cause."[7]

In March 2016 he was appointed to the Everton Football Club board.[8] Elstone left his role as Everton CEO in June 2017"

Shows he rates characters i suppose...

Chairman is fine for Kenwright as an honourary title...likewise CEO for DBB...

Cahill should come in as Technical Director or DOF imo. We should also look at Carsley for Head of academy.

Then bring in outside staff for the other key positions.

Do you actually look at Cahill as someone to toe the party line? For me its just the opposite...he seems to be a very driven individual.

CEO would just be an admin role -- DBB fine for that with Cahill right under her...

100%

As Timak says below...no degree, he did a short course. Alot of the top universities do that now.

His character, contacts and drive make him an ideal fit to make a name for himself in the management side of things.

Which DOF would you look at aside from Ashworth...Mitchell has a good background and network BUT...

...i like the idea of going for Cahill. Dont think he would be a risk at all.

I don't think Kenwright or Baxendale should be in critical position in the org.
