Tim Cahill - an Everton executive?

More freeloaders from our not so glorious past. I’d rather get actual businessmen/women in who are gonna move the club forward, not just provide sound bites and push blue bills party line down my throat.

Business degree from Harvard
Restructured a failing system by approaching it from a different way than trying to throw money at it
On the board of a European club
Still only 42 years old

Yeah mate he's just another ex coke head crap former player who wants a job...

If you knew anything about him you’d realise he is a very driven, focussed and successful businessman.

Why is having a degree being brought up all the time? I’d expect people in the top levels of business to be well educated. Been at Eupen since August, hardly time to implement anything. As I say, good luck to him if he joins, I’m frustrated with this clubs inability to look beyond anyone who hasn’t played for us.

It's not about having a degree from pretty much one of the top business universities alone, it's the fact he's also a football man, the combination is very rare

Cahill runs the biggest club/academy in Qatar and is credited with turning around a countries fortunes. He has a business degree from Harvard University.

I mean he hasnt looked after a local charity, but he has got very good experience.
His "business degree from Harvard" was a 4 day course.

He has been head of football in Aspire for 9 months in a program that has been running for 15 years.

I actually think he would make a decent front man DoF type but there are way more experienced candidates with more relevant club based track records.

Having a business degree from Harvard is not just getting a degree though mate.

He has received an awful lot of credit for his work at Aspire though.

My preference is, he comes onto the board and we also get a DOF.

Not quite.
Cahill is a man not a boy - he’s totally focussed on being successful and goes all out to achieve it. He’s totally driven, dedicated and clearly has business acumen and understands football club dynamics. He’s everything that we’re saying the current board aren’t.

Jobs for the boys is, I agree, a dangerous approach, but not in this case.

I think he’d make a huge positive impression on the Club and stabilise us.
You his agent man?

Just che king out his messages, funny the other week he name-dropped three players who helices playing with at Everton (Ferguson, Arteta, Carsley)

Interesting thst two of those went on to forge a career in coaching/management away from the job for the boys easier route, and both respected and regarded as being intelligent too.

Just a small thing but shows something

Shows he rates characters i suppose...

Not as in Chairman, but as in the actual role Kenwright does, I can see Cahill just being much better at. Essentially holding people to account.

Chairman is fine for Kenwright as an honourary title...likewise CEO for DBB...

Cahill should come in as Technical Director or DOF imo. We should also look at Carsley for Head of academy.

Then bring in outside staff for the other key positions.

Do you actually look at Cahill as someone to toe the party line? For me its just the opposite...he seems to be a very driven individual.

Yes I'm probably being greedy in wanting say him and Ashworth, and could lead to some wire crossing, as they operate in similar way.

I've said a few times, I'd split the CEO role to a football and commercial roles. He could do the football one.

One interesting point, is more of a recruitment focussed DOF would work, like Michael Edward's.

But yes, I'd be very happy with Cahill as DOF. I also think he would speak "upwards" to Moshiri well, and tell him to butt out, which we have missed.

CEO would just be an admin role -- DBB fine for that with Cahill right under her...

Not quite.

100%

As Timak says below...no degree, he did a short course. Alot of the top universities do that now.

His character, contacts and drive make him an ideal fit to make a name for himself in the management side of things.

Which DOF would you look at aside from Ashworth...Mitchell has a good background and network BUT...

...i like the idea of going for Cahill. Dont think he would be a risk at all.
