TIM HOWARD THOUGH

How much do you think we could sell him for in the summer?

We really shouldn't be looking for anything for him. Seriously. He is an old guy as far as football goes and on a big wage. We should be only be concerned with getting him off our wage bill. By demanding a fee we reduce what clubs can contribute towards wages. Just wipe our hands of him to whoever is stupid enough to meet his wage demands.

I tell you what worries me at QPR on Sunday - I have just realised that they had a long shot specialist Phillips who scored goal of the season from FOURTY YARDS out v a better Keeper Spironni than we have in TH , and then his another scorcher that came close - Doug for goodness sake tell your keeper coach to tell Tim H to forget his deckchair on Sunday sitting just outside the six yard box or we are doomed!lol
Even worse is RM as stated he think Alcaraz was not at fault for any of our goals conceded last night, so who is he blaming Doug?

I've been watching replays of the first goal and yes it is a cracking shot.

However i think it's saveable because there isn't a lot of curl on it and it's not right in the top corner. Difficult, and you'd have to be a bloody good keeper but it is saveable.

As for Howard, position wise he's not actually too bad. About 4 yards off his line and about half way between his near post and the middle of the goal, Yarmalenko is outside of the near post when he shoots so thats not too bad at all.

Problem is Howard is edging forward from his good starting position and not anticipating the shot well enough. If he does that and has his feet ready to dive rather than shuffling forward he could have dived and got his fingertips to the shot. Thats why he stands and watches it, he wasn't prepped to save a shot.

Even if he'd been set right and dived it would have been difficult to save it but a top class keeper could have pulled that off.

Kurts mate "Tony" works for Arsenal as goalkeeping coach, initially it seemed Kurt & "Tony" said Howard could do nothing with the first goal, then it seems "Tony" said if the ball didn't go where it did then Howard is in the wrong position for an imaginary shot that never happened. Then I thought Kurts mate "Tony" must be Gerry Peyton because of the Everton connection and the fact he's Arsenal's goalkeeping coach. Now I think Kurts gone to ring "Tony" and confirm one way or the other about the real shot that beat Howard and give his mates opinion, then he's off out.
Hi Dougie I'm home, honestly mate, you can't truthfully be this thick can you ? Nobody has said in the whole thread he should have the shot, except maybe you making things up. Honestly, you're looking awfully foolish here.

So Kurt you're saying you and "Tony" think he couldn't have saved that real shot, but you both think he would have had no chance with that fictitious shot that you've both made up that never happened?

In this other world of imaginary incidents has "Tony" ever had a drugs test after a game?

You're deflecting again Dougie ....
