TIM HOWARD THOUGH

The lad isn't good enough, Alex Ferguson got rid when he realised, we are still putting up with him, when he is way, way past his prime. Get rid of the 'palm it out to opposition attackers' knobhead.

There goal was a well worked corner, with great blocking on Barkley, however Howard should have at least got a hand on it
Nope ...tell it how it is , any top flight keeper saves that no problem.Near post again !
In fact its harder not to save it,the ball is not a foot away from his bodyframe..woeful keeping.

I'm not quite sure what you were trying to say here, I'm assuming autocorrect? But if you're saying there's more to our problems than Howard, I agree. But I think Robles earned a shot at a first team place and Howard hasn't done much to change that opinion since his return.

Both bear and fat fingers it seems. I was trying to say Howard can't be soley responsible for all our goals all the time although people do try and make this out. Tonight there were many factors leading to that goal and Howard being beaten at the space a defender leaves open wasn't the only one.

Also ROBLES is plop. :)

You can argue all night about this save and that cross or whatever.

Simple fact is he's not good enough. Every game there is a question mark over his performance. Not good enough.
Not for where we are now, nor where we want to be in the future.

Thanks for everything Tim.

Don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out.

He's the next Buffon. In fact he's the next Joel Robles, he's already created his own legend. I can only refer you to my above posts of Howard not saving the few shots he has to save. The defence can't keep everything out, otherwise we wouldn't need a keeper. It's hard seeing people be so harsh about someone who has had a good career at this club, but is he good enough for the team we want to be? I don't think he is anymore.

Yeah Alcaraz wasn't to blame at all..

ha, you don't get it mate. when people blame howard, they're not saying he's the only one to blame we'll ignore everyone else's mistakes. this is a tim howard thread, they're just highlighting his mistake again. he made 4 or 5 tonight it must be said. i only remember that one comfortable save from range he had to make. 2 shots on target 1 conceded, keeping up with his average and he was again at fault. the cross in the second minuter when he palmed it away straight through the box could have fallen to any of their players. it was a simple catch to make. even the save he made he had enough time to get his body behind and catch instead of diving and palming away from a corner. then there was when jags headed the ball up in the air 8 yards out and he stood rooted to his line having to watch a header fly past him and into the side net. he was pretty terrible in a match where he's had nothing difficult to do again.

Awful keeper who may well have cost us the tie. Again a team has scored from what is really the only half chance we gave them all match at the near post. What bothers me is that again the goal goes in above Howard because he is falling backwards into the net. If he stands up he saves it. Similarly to the Yarmolenko shot in the second half, there didn't look like any danger but suddenly if that had ogne inside the post it was in because Howard was again falling over backwards exposing loads of his goal. Woeful keeper for me and we are gambling with our premier league status and chances of a trophy by keeping him in. Robles made more saves in the West Ham cup game than I've seen Howard make all season. We'd be safe now if Robles had continued with 2 extra points v Leicester, 1 more v Chelsea and 1 more v Arsenal. Roberto knows best though!

i can't blame him for the finish, the cross that led up to it though. he left it go because he thought it was going out of play. it was nowhere near going out, got his bearings terrible wrong as he has done his whole career. why can't he do his hammy in again?
