Life of an Evertonian, this isn’t it. An incredible night, an amazing comeback, total fan and team unity, premier league security, and within 24 hours we’re plastered over every media outlet about our terrible fans on the pitch, and possible points deductions for cooking the books.

Mission accomplished by the Sky club media outlets,

Leeds and Burnley are supposedly asking the PL to set up an independent panel to make a judgement within 6 weeks.

Any points deduction for cooking the books would only become applicable from next season anyway, in the unlikely event that it happens. I don’t know why our fans have invented this mad scenario.

I'm indifferent to them.

I'm just puzzled as to why they seem to hate us.

I've seen quite a few references to "Scouse Mackems" as well, which I find strange too, given Sunderland have won the league more times than them.
I asked my geordie mates about it. And they don't really get it either. Suggested it may be pickford or an altercation between fans at a game in the past that has just spread and festered.

They hate villa more though apparently as villa randomly seem to just hate them.

What we have to be wary of is if the Government step in here and take control away from the PL. They highly politicised the Chelsea ownership situation and could, if it's politically expedient to do so (Red Wall seats etc), step into any claim against the PL and Everton. But that's the only way I see matters changing for the worse on this.

The thing is, Everton played by the rules, and were within the rules.

You can make a judgement on the PL, but you cant punish EFC who have acted in good faith.

The most likely outcome of government involvement of which you describe would be to speed up external independent body.

We have followed the rules that are set though. It's like if you're driving 70mph, in a 70mph road, even if that road becomes 40mph at a later point, and the government says it should never have been 70mph, drivers driving at the limit wont be penalised.

I don’t think it will happen at all, but it’s not invented by the fans. It’s being reported by the media at large.
