VAR is supposed to correct “clear and obvious” errors by the on-field officials. How these marginal offsides would be clear and obvious decisions for other refs is beyond me. There should be a very small window in which the decision can be made; if you need a million angles and computer-assisted measurements because the difference is imperceptible to the naked eye it is NOT CLEAR AND OBVIOUS.

Because you suggested officials have loads of money riding on the outcome of games and implied that they used their positions of power to influence the games accordingly - to financially benefit from the pre-determined result.

Seems like it would be a very big operation to run.

They need to do what any scientist would do. Implement a “margin of error”. There’s quite a large one with the offside calls between frame rates, and speed of running, and camera precision etc. If the call is within the margin of error, don’t use VAR. Simple. End of. Any idiot would have done this in the first place
