For the money this would cost, I'd snap your hand off for Jack Cork instead for £3m. He'd do the same job as Barry and McCarthy and give us some depth. Cleverley isn't a tricky defence unlocking attacking mid - and that's what we should be after.

The pressure of playing for that club is on a whole other level. Just look at Gibson, slated by every one of their fans as crap, brilliant when he came here.
I also don't see Ferguson as the nurturing type although he did give Cleverly plenty of opportunity in the team so obviously he saw something in him.
Seeing as Roberto had him for a year and rates him so highly I'd be happy to see him come in as long as it is a reasonable fee.

Cleverly was terrible today and has been in almost every performance I've seen from him. In Roberto we trust but if he makes a player out of Cleverly I'd be very surprised.

Jack Cork for £3m ? Cloud cuckoo land. Southampton aren't exactly desperate for cash, for that fee i'm sure they'd rather keep him.
Depends on whether he is willing to sign a new contract - on the last year of his

Agree might take more than 3 million but depends on how much he wants to move.

Edit Started 19 games but don't think he has had any injuries so appears he is 3rd or 4th choice midfield.

Cleverley was one of three United players fined and given extra training for going on a night out TEN DAYS before Uniteds next match. And to think that a few years ago many posters on Everton forums were praising Moyes' man management skills. Cleverley obviously had a difficult time under Moyes, as did many United players. Well paid footballers, most of whom have an ego of some sort, it kind of comes with the talent, need top class man management. Moyes was not capable of that. Martinez is one of the best in the league at it. Enough said.
They deserved it

TEN days before a game? There has to be 'man management' here ..Moyes idea of man management is to embarrass young guys who on occasions when possible should be allowed to do what young guys do. Moyes simply just wants to 'impose himself' and a little more subtlety has to be used. Man management is a skill. Its not about acting like a prison governor. It is obvious that Moyes went into Old Trafford with a 'my way or no way' attitude and you just cannot do this with footballers who have more talent than he could ever have dreamed of having. You should compliment their talent and encourage and get them on your side. Thats the only way to get them to play for you. Moyes will fail next at Spurs if he gets that job. And you can vault me on that one.

Or to put it another way "The night after losing a match to Bayern Munich they were out on the lash until 3am against long standing club rules that predate Moyes' time there"

But who cares about the truth when you have a chance to slag off Moyes. Pathetic.

Your use of the word pathetic, is of course pathetic. I think going out AFTER a game is not and never has been a club rule at Man Utd ...or anywhere else. Try spotting a young Everton player who isn't out after a home agame! That is the time when it was permitted for players to have some down time. And win or lose...what difference does that make? 'You're not allowed to relax after you've lost'...thats the pathetic suggestion. Moyes primary, initial job at OT was to get the players on his side..he had no chance if he couldn't do this. Admittedly, whoever followed SAF had an almost impossible job...but Moyes took the job and from the minute he did that he had to accept the guidelines. And negative comments about Moyes...there's no need ever to make them up...the glaringly obvious facts have been widely publicised. I've met SAF on three occasions, all charity events, two of them in the evening after a game, and players have been there drinking and relaxing...and the nights have been long. SAF would not hang around late, but he would go leaving the players to carry on.

Urm he has been a crock of the highest order Mr Sick note as Cleverly would be - high wages for someone who has been injured and ruined imo!

Ok so Gibson wasn't a great example, but he is a better player than utd fans would have you believe.

I wouldn't mind Cleverley, he not as bad as people make him out, he was impressive under Wigan and impressive in his first season for Man u, he just not come on.

He was great at Wigan Improved even more at UNT until that injury I mentioned with Boltons Kevin Davis it was a horror tackle - never been the same since for UNT or England!
