The fact that we don't pay a transfer fee will be reflected in his high wages. That's what the Bosman ruling was all about.

If he's not a success, nobody will buy him and match his wages, so he'll be stuck here for five years.

We are committing future income to his wages, but do have some cash left for a purchase.
