You get splinters sitting on the fence. How boring would the forum be if we all did?

Never want a single player to ever do badly for us, even if it meant I was vindicated. Will be made up if he makes me look a tit tbh.
It's perfectly sound to be wrong on the internet. I am loads of times.

But back off criticising the fence man. The fence is where it's at.

While I don't think he's a great player, I think he's a good player. I think a lot of the 'don't want him' is because he's a bit like Osman in that regard. Good at a lot, not spectacular at most. I'll hold my hand up and say I was underwhelmed by him signing, but I like how fast he releases the ball. Still not sure where he's going to do best but remember him putting in nice crosses from the left. Could have two great flanks for the first time in.....I don't even know.

Considering he has been out and not had much game time before Monday, i thought he handled the 90 minutes well, didn't look as tired as other players, also played really well, looking forward to seeing him start at Norwich.

Did well, looks to have a lot of heart and desire to his game. His shot should've gone in.

Something I noticed is he is much more attack oriented compared to McCarthy - ventures forward a lot, more box to box than middle of the park, so to say, which means we move the ball in a more attacking fashion with him on.

Refreshing really.

I agree with Graeme. I thought Cleverley played well and would be happy for him to be a sub / back up option to cover for injuries.

Don't think he's "top 4" starting XI quality in the long run.

Since we had Limpar on one wing and Kanchellskis on the other circa 1995/96.

I remember thinking when we signed Andrei, "wow......Kanchelskis on the right, Limoar on the left.....and Big Dunc in the middle".

Somehow it never properly gelled, though :(

You can easily see how it would fail tho. There needs to be a lot of fast ball movement and such and then get the ball to Lukaku. He's not exactly prolific with heading..

Mind you, his heading prowess is much better this season.....at least three of his league goals have been headers.

Duncan must be working with him.

I found that most players we brought from the earlier Man U had better basics about them than our own, and by basics I purely mean movement! A joy to behold
