Barkley is awful on the left and is a confidence player. I think the reason Roberto sticks with him at CAM even when he's not in his best form is because dropping him or moving him would shatter his confidence. Ross has been far more effective so far this season than last and when he's on form is the best CAM we have right now, we shouldn't risk him going back in his shell.

Cleverly seemed to push forward more than McCarthy does. But that seemed to push Barkley back so he was more anonymous. Good in theory, but in practice didn't quite work out.

It may take a few games to get the balance and teamwork right, there was a lot of lost balls in the second half with players not reading each other's movements.

Will be interesting to see how things play out when McCarthy is back available. I'm. It sure who is drop. Martinez may start rotating players more. Especially over Xmas.

....I think this is what will happen. Downside is I can't see him chipping in with many goals but Kone isn't exactly prolific. Kone also links well with Lukaku but I think Cleverley will give us a greater dimension.
