I've said before that some people get precious about players getting stick, and that it's not that bad at the games, but in the last couple of home games there really has been a nasty undercurrent to some of the Davies stuff. There've been people round me howling at everything he does and screaming for him to be subbed every 5 minutes, it's not necessary and will do neither favours to either us or him.

People vary with their opinions on Davies and his potential. What I find bizarre is choosing him as a captain. A team captain has a bigger role on the pitch other than taking part in the pre match toss up. I can't see how making a struggling young player captain helps him or us at all. Silva must have his own reasons for doing it.

It could potentially be the reason for his erraticness in that second half. He was getting abused for going sidewise and backwards but was also getting abused for trying balls forward that weren't coming off. It's frustrating like but I agree that some of the mouth-foamers in the Gwladys need to wind it in a bit.
Why is he equally horrendous at passing, when he plays away from home then? It’s all well and good blaming the fans, but the lad has had ample opportunities to improve and he hasn’t.

It's a shame that Everton never seem to be in a position to use limited players correctly. Davies would probably be OK if he was deployed as a spoiler against good teams, like Phil Neville at United.

It’s getting worse every season. It used to be generic moaning and grumbling for the sake of it but now it’s very much deliberate and targeted at certain people. People now actively want things to go wrong so they can fume. It’s become part of their ritual.

Anyone think that if Davies had anything about him he should be getting an England call up ahead of Chalaboah and Mason Mount? Given he is alao now captaining one of England's largest clubs, surely he should be?
Of course, the reality has to that he is not very good (certainly at present). I really hope he does come good, but it is a real indictment of his performances that a Championship loanee and a player with 4 mins prem experience this season are getting in ahead of him....

i like the lad and think there's a player there, thats not a popular opinion i know but i think there's others more worthy of the fans disapproval. goodison is now where people go to have a moan.
