I think he's playing much better this season. And I'm glad he's in the team.

This "majority of the fans" thing you've said means nothing and is impossible to determine. The fact of the matter is we are far more likely to win matches with Davies and Gueye than Gueye and Schneiderlein. I hope to never see that duo together ever again.

I agree that Gueye and Schneiderlin is a terrible matchup, but as soon as Gomes is fit, Davies needs the boot. Terrible player.

I hope Gomes is the real deal too.

But I don't get the hate. Especially when he's blatantly doing better than our other midfield option. He's played well this season. He did well on Saturday in a tricky away game. He will make mistakes, but he plays the way a central midfielder should.

Two early tackles and he looked quite assured on Saturday. Still some sloppy play there but many more positives than negatives.

Until one of Schneiderlin Gueye or McCarthy can learn to control our attacking game with forward passing then Davies will continue to start. The record without him in the team is woeful. If we play Gueye and Schneiderlin you may as well take Siggurdson off too because he won’t be seeing the ball.

Silva is doing a lot of things right and quickly binning Schneiderlin in favour of Davies has improved Gueye’s and Siggurdson’s games too.

Exactly. So it speaks to him being at least DECENT. Does he make great decisions all the time? No, but the kid has industry, courage, heart, and has some talent and tricks. Decision making comes with experience at high levels.

He’s 20 years old and has been trusted by 4 managers to run our attacking game from deep midfield. In the meantime we’ve dispensed with Cleverley Rooney Klaasen Besic who all played the same position. He’s clearly got a lot of things that managers value.

4 completely different managers all with open chequebooks, all with other more senior options to choose from, all chose Davies, it’s not a coincidence.
