I thought he played well until the penalty, he wasn't as good 2nd half but I think the team whole team were a little to on the back foot 2nd half. He has shown more composure not losing the ball in key areas and trying o hit hollywood balls. He kept it simple and he has stepped on from last season. Bear in mind its difficult considering he hasn't had a consistent run in the side.

Been given a role as the 6 and Carlo has simplified his game. His experience coming in at full back and wing back has evidently improved his defensive side and knowing when to cover the wings and how. Think he’s benefited from watching Allan’s game, too,

That’s twice this season he’s come in for Allan in that role and done ok actually. Mad to think he’s only 22. Feels like he’s been mediocre for some time now.

He had a good game last night. The manager seems to like him and complimented him after his performance. Hopefully he can take confidence from that and kick on. Needs to make the most of these chances, he won’t get a better chance at redemption than now.

nailed on.

I actually think he’s looked good during each of his appearances this season, he appears to be playing a much more simple game. We don’t see anymore near as much of him trying to make these random dribbles and opposition players in the middle of the park.

I feel his main role is to cover as much ground as he can, drop back into holes and when he gets the ball to just play a quick and sample pass.

We’re not going to see him dominate games playing like this but sometimes being a simple and hard working CM can go a long way to help the side get three points.

His running without the ball seems to be a bit aimless, over the last few games it appears the players have been schooled to get back into position quickly. When I watch Tom Davies he appears not to know where he should be when the opposition have the ball. Maybe he hasn’t played enough recently.
I find it worrying, Carlo seems to have found a way for us to win games without our best players being on the field but it takes discipline from all eleven, if Tom is to play a full part he needs to learn where he should be in all situations.

I actually thought the opposite, that one of his strengths was filling the gaps when the opposition had the ball to reduce space for them , pairing up at times to ensure Arsenal attackers didn’t get through and ensuring they weren’t running at us and shooting from distance. Generally I thought Tom was better without the ball , he’s got the discipline to do what Carlo tells him when the opposition have the ball.
Where he was lacking I thought was the times when our defenders needed an outlet in tight situations , he didn’t move that extra five yards into space to make himself available, Allan excels at that. Going forward though he picked up some good positions moving into space .
In short , he’s no Allan but he’s not too bad a stand in ..... until we lose then it’s all Tom’s fault.
