I never expected this start nor I think did any of us ,it is the start of a long haul but it is surprising what confidence does to a side -take Leicester as the prime example ,they have been living of that win since -I am not saying we will win it but if we are there or thereabouts after christmas then I bet we delve into the market again .Mr Moshiri will know that the chance is on and I am sure grasp the chance . Saying that I am enjoying the ride and grateful for that .

Before the Liverpool game people would be saying, you have played no one out the top 6
or whatever bs, Spurs 'who was not on their game' yes okay.. we have now played two of the
top 6 from last year and gained 4 points, won against teams who do not have the talent we have currently,
what other seasons have been the difference between a fairly decent season and an average/bad season.

top 4? tough task, top 6 defiantly think we will be up there but as things stand we are in a very good
position to have them ambitions/keep this momentum going.

i do think injury's to key players could also define our season what fingers crossed does not happen.

Does Doucoure get in the box for corners or does he stay outside? Never noticed before but you would think he would attack a set piece with his size.

He's better utilized to cover counter attacks with his pace and strength given the other attacking set piece talent we have (DCL, Richarlison, Mina, Keane) and that the others aren't speed demons (Allan, James, etc.)

Another thing to add to the list now is winning our ‘6 pointers’ against our biggest rivals for Top 4.
It was rubbish not beating Southampton, Burnley and Leeds but they won’t be right up there end of season.
Beating Spurs, Leicester, Chelsea (maybe Arsenal but unlikely) were massive for us because they were also games that they now got 0 points.

This has been the best festive period I can remember!

We are still averaging around the 2 points per game mark after the festive period (think we’ll be bang on it if we beat West Ham). That’s 76 points if we maintained it over the course of a season. The way this league is going then even low 70s may be enough for fourth.

What is encouraging is that twice now we have put together strings of four wins. Even Liverpool Chelsea Spurs are struggling to do this. We may drop some points but if we can get on another run of games like we have been then we’re always going to keep ourselves up and around there.

The key is going injury free through. We’re not going to end up top 4 if every week a core of James Allan Digne Richarlison are out. They need to get fit, stop getting suspensions, and stay fit. Hopefully the better weather and less fixtures might help us with that. Gbamin and Delph also to return as options hopefully.

We’re still an outside bet as Liverpool United City look nailed on for three spots. I think if by some miracle we stay in the race it will be with Spurs and Chelsea for the final spot. The festive period has been kind to us and both sides have Europe so let’s hope some of their players are the ones missing games going forward and they continue to drop points.

Totally agree with all that!
I read a stat the other day that no team has won more than four in a row this season and we’re the only team to have done it twice and the second time is still going so we can better it by beating West Ham Friday.
