We were set solid defending. Everyone knows who's doing what. Never in danger of cracking. The substitution has people wondering where they should adjust and just adds to a break of concentration.

Just leave it alone. Leave it FFS.

On that logic, Kev wouldnt have scored then? Cant have it both ways mate. Baines got done for the cross, Vic could have scored at the death, Howard, (somehow), palmed one onto the bar. To blame the goal on the sub is barmy. IMO.

People are acting ridiculous.
This was a good result. When considering squads, absentees, form, venue, everything-- this was a good result.
Yes in the context of our goals for the season, and considering how we were ahead, its not the ideal result- but to respond with such hysteria is madness.
People are blaming Moyes, Barkley, Naismith, Anichebe, Neville, Kenwright, uhh, shut up.
This is not where 4th was lost.
We are still in it with a slim chance, let's beat QPR first, and see what happens to our rivals too.

Another thing-
I used to really feel Anichebe was a total waste of space. I don't think I was wrong- it was often like having 10 men playing with him on the field. But man, has he improved massively. He was great today.
Naismith is very often another player who leaves us playing like we're a man down. I really do hope he does an Anichebe and comes right.
But blaming him for today? You're just angry and looking for a scapegoat. He was not the reason we didn't win. Let him be.

Mirallas rolled the ball across for a shot just rising above the bar shortly before being subbed. He was still well in that game. That's not my point though. We played excellent away team football today. We looked rock solid until the substitution - substitutions can work for you and they can backfire. This one backfired. I dont think it make any difference the ball that led to their second came via Baines; the point is that you change a settled unit when a substitution is made...why nmake them if a dynamic isn;t changed?

We got punished for that sub today.

Usually i'd be very happy with a point and even before the game i`d have taken a point if offered but after seeing Spurs today i feel it was a missed opportunity and if we had any chance of getting 4th we really have to be taking advantage of a depleted team that didn't perform very well(Spurs),but they are 3rd and were never really going to rollover for us. Its a decent point which suited them much more than it suited us.

Dont think we did. We conceded a goal, sure, but. IMO, not because of the sub.

I actually think he did try to lift it but his legs must have felt like lead at that stage

Hahaha, does seem that way doesn't it? Either way, I respect how Dave has his beliefs and sticks to them. Better than knee-jerking every week.

I think Moyes was concerned with how, in the last 10 mins, a goal to the good, it was very much a defensive job we were doing and rightly so. Mirallas wasn't able to help out in that respect and Naismith is the type of player who gets stuck in and helps us out in such situations. See the City game where he came on for Kevin much earlier and ended up starting the break away for Jelavic's goal with a great strong tackle that Mirallas wouldn't have made.

Anichebe was good today, but I'm sorry, Moyes did get the substitution wrong. From about 60 minutes in he was really blowing, even looking over to the bench he was so tired. I have no idea why he wasn't hauled off to be honest - and as I said I agree he was good.

****in' amateur defending for the goal. That's what cost us 2 points today. The way Walker bummed Baines for the goal is very disappointing. How the hell can a team be unbalanced, and get knicked in a sort of counter, after attacking with only 2 or 3 players???

And that chance wasted by Anichebe, right after the equalizer...
