Totally agree. Derby was off day, most of us said we never win the statement games, and that is still the case. Typical Everton. Knew after 60mins we wud prob lose

Hmmm us on a bad day, away to a good side that spends 100 plus million and we're bitterly disappointed. That's a good sign, sort of. The Champions league chase wasn't lost here but rather in games against Sunderland, WBA, palace, Norwich, Cardiff, even home against the RS, if we'd won just some those very winnable games (games that we dominated) this loss wouldn't be so important. ifs buts and maybes. Keep the fume in check.

I don't really know why people are surprised. When you're competing with teams who spend £50m at will whilst we battle against a negative net spend, it's no surprise we've got zero cutting edge.

How on earth is Osman starting games he was shattered around the 60min mark he should not be starting games anymore if he comes on of the bench he probably changes the game

Neither us nor Spurs will be getting anywhere near 4th spot unfortunately, 6th could still get into Europe though if Man City win the League Cup
Liverpool are three points ahead of Spurs. I wouldn't bank on it. They have had a 'nightmare' season and Liverpool have had a 'fantastic' one...but Spurs are on their heels.

This is the most ridiculous knee jerk I've seen on here. Absolutely undeserved loss and some people are saying Martinez is clueless? The game was dominated until that goal which took all the wind out the sails. Just one good striker at the top of the pitch from being a very good side. Martinez obviously didn't think Traore was suitable for the game. That's fine by me. Performances like that every week will see Everton finishing no less than sixth which is a great start for Roberto.

Traore wasn't suitable for the game? What game is he suitable for then? It was obvious we needed a striker up there and he doesn't bring him on when we are chasing the game and need to win it. If he is not fit enough to play at all then why is he sitting on the bench and then warming up on the sideline! Ridiculous by Martinez in my opinion

Performances like that? We played well first half but second half we was poor and dreadful after they scored

Should have been 0-0. They didn't make any bad mistakes defensively, we did, can't afford to be doing that in important games.

but it wasnt due to Osman. He was a passenger after the first 15 minutes. Sat on the fn pitch for 10+ seconds whilst the ball was still in play.

I am not saying he was totally the reason but to say he was a passenger is going a bit far, the whole of the 1st half he was putting himself about. He made a few bad decisions and poor passes but we can't single him out for that now can we, considering every single player was guilty of that.

Plus, I don't think he was having a power nap.

Disappointing yes!!!! But some people seriously need a reality check. Did you honestly believe we had the strength in depth to realistically challenge for the CL . The lack of depth has cost us but overall I am over the moon with the way the season has gone. I actually see a light at the end of the tunnel for the way we are shaping up on the pitch. Martinez has brought back pride to the club and our expectations have risen to such an extent that we are expecting us to get CL football....this season....his first season in charge.

Come on...

We went there and was the better side.

Defensive lapse, and having no striker cost us.

We sit, in a transitional season with our highest ever PL tally with money to spend in the summer...

We don't score enough goals, even with a fit striker we will find it hard, to many wrong decisions and overplaying in the final third. Mirralas slips naismith in and we are 1-0 up in the first half.

That has screwed us, valuable points lost. Why oh why was Osman started and why take off peanuts for Ross surely better to get rid of Osman. So okay taken off later but should have started with Del and Ross from the kick off. Roberto got it wrong here just like the derby game.

Can be no excuse from Roberto for messing this up, and now Man U will be snapping at our heels.

Striker problem is fairly clear , but maybe there was nobody who fitted the bill during the window , we've been hit with injuries quite badly , surprised the doom and gloom given we're in the top six and the amount of change the club has had in the previous nine months.
Today we outplayed spurs at the lane for long periods of the game . Got sucker punched , that's the reality of it.
