Well said....he is in his first season here - where did people expect us to finish ?? OK expectations have been raised but injuries to vital players has hit us hard with the squad we have - beat Palace on Wed (although they will be no pushovers) and get ready for the Cup game next w/e

yeah only saw that on the replay, i thought he was playing offside, which we would have got had distin been switched on, regardless of jags being switched on, would have been luck on his part though. love distin, but he's been a bit of liabaility this season, far off his performances of last season.
 
Pienaar coming off ruined us, maybe he had to take him off just coming back, but to then change the shape to the same shape that was so pathetic in the first half against villa was beyond stupid, see you in august

He shouldve have a hattrick before that like.

The problem is the striker and lack of it.

Mirallas isn't a striker. He even disappeared in the latter stages of the 2nd half. Naismith did well, but was never played through.

Different game if Lukaku plays.

Because the whole point of the bench is to have OPTIONS. Martinez knows the players and their effects better than any of us on here so he obviously thought Deulofeu and McGeady would have more of an effect. I imagine if Traore had come on and played absolutely awfully then you'd be having a go at Martinez for throwing him at such a deep end or something.
