Starting with Naismith as lone striker and Osman as nr 10 won't scare many Championship sides , never mind the top 6 in the Pl-
with them up there we shall always be farting against thunder -
when we went behind after Osman lost the ball and Naismith fouled and the rest were caught napping - Martinez should have gone into attack mode straight away -
Naismith was eventually laughed off the pitch by the local fans and Osman was totally knackered before he was thankfully relieved of his duties - wake up Roberto - why did we wait for the last 10 minutes for some real urgency?
Playing without a real striker and a real CM in the real world is always going to be really tough

If we can see how poor osman and Naismith are why can't bobby?

To start both was criminal.
As was putting mcgeady on instead of traore.

If the players on the bench aren't fit why didn't we bolster the squad in January?

I thought Osman was one of our better players and Naismith done well first half. The problem for Naismith is that he isn't a target man and needs someone to play up front with.

No real bad performances today, we just couldn't score and were punished for it. It happens, frustrating like.

Despite you lot missing some pretty key players nevermind some returning from injury and many of you are so easily losing your heads?

It's the nature of some football fans I think, there were some saying we would go into free-fall after the Derby and many were frustrated at half time in the Villa game last week.

We needed much more of a presence up front - obviously Traore wasn't fit enough to start, but Roberto definitely should have brought him on. There was no outlet for the midfielders to play the ball into. Defensively we were great. Overall, I thought a draw would have been a fair result. Just one poor decision and loss of concentration cost us. No penalty at the end.

Can't really blame that on not having a striker, imo.

It wasn't like there were loads of balls being played in from the wings and through the middle that Lukaku would have been scoring from. The one time we really got the chance to do that (Mirallas first half) he was selfish and chose to go himself and cocked it right up.

The injured players have come back too late for us, imo, which has cost us in two really important games. Really looking forward to next season when we can hopefully say goodbye to Osman as a first teamer.

Looking at United's side now, unless they continue to surprise, you wonder if we'll get top 6 this year. Will United continue in poor form for the rest of the season? I doubt it. We're not scoring enough goals this year. That's our problem. Even with Lukaku in form and playing our best football earlier in the season, we weren't really scoring a huge amount.

Chelsea away should be interesting, like. I hope Traore's a good addition as we need to get Osman and Naismith away from our first XI.

Again, failure to invest has cost us. Cheap options and loans aren't enough for us to stay competitive when injuries hit us. Money has to be spent in the summer. It'd be naive to expect that to happen though as it never has before.

Fantastic win by NZ over India in the cricket which made my day. Everton disappointed me tonight but maybe I was expecting too much. I know this might upset a lot of GOT patrons, but their IS a gulf in playing ability/scoring ability between the current top 4 sides and the rest.

In sure you'll be told we're actually better than Liverpool and without a cheat up front we'd be miles ahead.

Which is utter rubbish, we operate in a different league to them as proven in recent weeks. It's the manner of wins - they destroy sides and we grind out results.

And until we get some money that will continue as the gulf widens

Mirallas needs to pass the ball when in good positions!

Pedestrian effort once we went a goal down. Naismith to blame for giving stupid free kick away an being turd generally.

I thought Osman was one of our better players and Naismith done well first half. The problem for Naismith is that he isn't a target man and needs someone to play up front with.

Agreed. Naismith is a 'second' striker.

Osman done well today, no worse than anyone else.

We were the better side today, we just never had it in the final third. Hopefully a refreshed Lukaku is back soon, and this Traore lad is decent and can hit the ground running.

The issue is that when the game appears to be a must win, we whither. Injuries or not, this game should have been a win. It needed to be a win. And until we see Martinez and this Everton side win a game that we MUST win, the doubts and nervousness will still be there.

The win at ManU and draw at Arsenal were huge results no doubt, but they were not seen as must win.

It looked in that second half like the boys drank a pot of coffee each at the half, and were super jittery on the ball as a result.

Even the most optimistic fan has to see this as a game we should have won.

Let's hope we can get a good performance and convincing win in the cup next week.

Our confidence could really start to dip if we don't.
