Last time i seen Khedira play i said to myself that he was finished, looked well off the pace.

If he can come on for Allan or Doucoure in the last 15 minutes and stop their hamstrings from exploding, it could be a decent signing.

Usually I’d say buy first teamers in the summer and buy good young talent in Jan with the odd loan deal. This year I think it’s imperative we still try and shift the dross and replace with improved quality immediately in Jan.
We need players to fit into our preferred system, if Khedira is that player then bring him in. Intelligence on the pitch will always win out against athleticism

Not sure if he's more or less mobile than Gomes but Carlo clearly needs an option from the bench to help close out games and help with fatigue and injury.

Also, when back's are against the wall and you're defending a lead with 10 minutes to go it would be useful to have a player who can keep the ball, have control of possession and someone who can slow the game down. Don't think we have a player with those attributes.

But as people have highlighted on here, his injury record is alarming. Think we'd have to shift Delph before we bring in Khedira.

Need players off the wage bill then we can start looking at the next step. I personally think James has joined a season too soon. If we get the right players round him he will take us up the next step. This window should be about making sure we can maintain this position so we need a couple of players who can actually come right into the team.

Last window we bought Nkounkou and Godfrey for the future (though Godfrey is clearly even better than we thought and stepped up straight away) and Doucoure, Allan and James for the immediate.
I think that’s a great mix of business.
We’ll make moves in both departments whenever the opportunities come up.

Branthwaite aswell, who looks a decent CB for the future along with Holgate and Godfrey, get Digne signed up and we just need a RB to take over from Coleman soon
