I see some are slating the signing of Khedira at 33 but want Di Maria who is very nearly the same age... We need winners and Khedira absolutely fits that bill.....

We should sign Roy Keane then, both have played the same amount of football in the last 18months.

Unless I am mistaken Khedira is at Juventus training every day the same as the starting XI with the same intensity and quality of the starting XI, just missing the games. Roy Keane sat on his sofa or in a studio......

Whether it’s right or wrong it’s pretty confusing at the moment and has me a little worried

I think the name of the game is moving out players the manager doesn’t want to make FFP room for the manager to sign players he does want. Whatever people think of Kean he obviously didn’t have a future at Everton. He could be sold and we can get in a forward Carlo might want.

I wouldn’t be surprised if either Davies or Delph are sold in this window and Khedira brought in on loan. The quality of the squad is slowly improving in each window whilst our compliance position with the regulation improves.

31m with likely a hefty sell on fee will represent a 5-10m profit on a who has flopped here. It will also show a much bigger profit on the books.

That money could be used to sign either King or Milik and a portion of Keans wages would cover it too.

I'd suggest, the cash coming in might be what allows us to get someone like the above in. It may not be them, they are just 2 examples. All clubs are financially strapped though, and looking to move lads out ahead of the Euros. Options will be available if some liquidity can come in.

King?

Please don’t say Josh King

I'd rather get gueye back if possible. Idk haven't followed his situation at all.

Rather than renting Khadeira that dude is washed

Our most successful manager had no qualms about buying youth or buying OAP’s. If he saw they could improve the team or the squad, he get them in. Our fan base needs to stop obsessing about age or sell-on values. If buying five players in the last year of their careers got us a trophy, then it matters zilch if the all leave the next year on a free?

When was this? The 80s?

It will if it hinders the next window. You're not building the core of this team around a few old guys.

I mean like your whole post is so awful. A trophy for 5 years of sucking, or keep building off of last season and maybe wait 2 years for a trophy but the shot at more after that.

You'd be so bad at this. Go back to the 80s. Your hypothetical is absurd also. 5 guys who are like 33 who will push this team over the top that are actually available just isn't realistic

I say gfyp.

So you are asking when our most successful manager was around and you genuinely think that us winning a trophy would actually harm future windows?

Wow! OK mate , I’ll leave you to get on with it, as I don’t argue with beauts! Enjoy your day. :)

On the basis that the signing of Gomes was universally thought a good thing on here, hopefully, Ancelotti isn't going to be consulting GOT for advice before making any signings.
