Even if they weren't true we don't have to wait till a team bids. We can put him on the market. We might not get as good a price but we could still free up enough funds to get Shaqiri or another No10.

I want the board to back Martinez too but I hold them all to blame.
Even in this somewhat high priced environment not sure how many teams would pay ~20m for a CM/DM. True we could swap him for an attacking midfielder but personally not convinced that many on the market would be worth the trade including Shaqiri.

What is wrong with you people?

Why can't you see it is an inefficient use of resources to have 4 players for 1 role when we have zero No10.

Are you all on drugs to quote your sig.

Why did you assume I was talking about you? Guilty conscience maybe?

Barry is old, Besic is hardly the finished product, Gibson is eternally crocked, Cleverley isn't a DM.

Silly to even think about selling our best DM IMO.

shaqiri choosing stoke over everton would just be a massive embarrassment . yes for us , but more so for the player.

its like chatting up a woman in a nightclub and her deciding to leave with rab c nesbitt instead . yes our ego would take a knocking , but there is plenty of other fit birds around and clearly ones not so stupid - ultimately we will be alright - its her loss and some other lucky ladies gain.
the original woman is gonna wake up with a fat blobby git who stinks of crap and has peed the bed in the night. she will get preggers and spend her life , staring in the mirror wondering where it all went wrong and how she ended up in such a dump living like a tramp , while her fella is laying in a pool of his own vomit outside the local bookies.

rip shaqiri .... who , it seems , is about to commit football career suicide

but that still doesn't mean that our clubs handling of transfers this summer shouldn't warrant a massive back lash from the fans.
only 4 million and the season has started !!! its simply not good enough for everton and any other premiership team , in fact its not even good enough for a championship side so far.
Unfortunately it's 3am and the lights are about to go up and then we'll realise we're standing in a room of blokes. Sure there's always next week/window.

Silly going into a new season without a No10 too. Just depends which team you think is better. I think last season was enough to make me realise I don't want us to do that again.

yea but we are young free and single .... we could bag a fit call girl for a quick fix , and theres always next weekend where we could bag a worldy.
but we could go with what we have got and just make do with pornhub and our hand lol

options

madness selling McCarthy . only players we should consider offers for imo .... kone Naismith mcgeady - we can do better , pienaar Osman hibbert barry howard - age .......... but we wouldn't get much for them and would cost a bomb to replace.

Emotional story

So Naismith at 5-6m and McGeady ~2m perhaps (given his current hamstring injuries) Doesn't sound a great windfall tbh, we got Besic for 4m but Galloway/Stones both cost~3m.

But that £7-8 mil could be the difference between having enough to match a rival clubs bid for a Shaqiri, or the 60/70k off the wage bill to be able to match a rival clubs wage offer for a payet.

Naismith has a job for life at this club under martinez not because of ability or necessity but because he runs around a lot, the club isn't ran like a business and that's the problem with us as a whole sadly.

Regardless it will be interesting to see what happens in the next 3 weeks.

I don't know why people are focused on Stoke. They're currently a more ambitious club, & were much more aesthetically pleasing to watch than us last year. Not a fan of the area but a player will be getting paid millions not to care.
Back to topic- Bobby doesn't get a playmaker this window- someone's head should roll. Wish David Silva had a sudden desire to wear royal blue.

On reflection guess we'd get more than you were quoting for Naismith. He's got an excellent scoring record against the Sky teams, 3 seasons in a row against Chelsea for example, so think there is substantial proof he offers a bit more than the "runs around a lot" that he is often tagged with. Offered a choice between him, Jelavic and Anichebe I'd chose Steven every time and they went for ~6m two years ago.

Your last sentence reminds me of the Terry Pratchett phrase "may you live in interesting times".

Why is it football suicide to choose a team that is currently better than us that may well have a better manager
