Anyone who doesn't think that lennon will be one of the 3 signings come deadline day is just deluding themselves...

Wrong. If we signed the 3 players we'd still be after him on Deadline Day.
Getting him now means we're clearly able to get a deal thats good enough for us and saves us waiting for Deadline Day.

Anyone complaining about the Lennon signing in isolation is being stupid. The lad was arguably one of our 3 best players when he was here. Now if it turns out that he counts as one of the mystical 3 and is our equivalent of replacing the number 10 we desperately need then that's not good enough but save those fumes for 1st September.

Would be very disappointed indeed if this old man took away playing time from deulofeu. Sends out all the wrong messages - we'll have another Barry on our hands, like him he'll probably down tools when Martinez has been panicked into giving him a 4 year deal.

I've no doubt that he's one of the phantom 3 as well.

Do you genuinely beleive that will happen? I never said the lennon deal was dependant on that any other transfers and don't beleive it is...

Lennon would add to the squad, there is no doubt about that. He would provide cover and the opportunity to rest our wingers. But why are we spending money on a luxury we can't afford. We need a playmaker, we need a forward , we need a replacement centre half or maybe a first team centre half plus cover. Lennon is a good player but he is none of these things.
This is like when you were wee and your mum would send you to the shops for bread and you would come home with a newspaper, it might be useful but it is not what you need.

Playing for a contract, just like Barry was. He did his job, we got a decent (not as good as people make out) run from him. Doesn't mean we should go back.

If Lennon costs the same as Del say. In 3 years Lennon is worth nothing, he takes his wages and he goes. If anything its likely his performances decrease year on year as well, regardless of the fact he's a little fella who relies on pace and has no end product.

In 3 years even if Del doesn't become a great (likely) we'd still likely get 4m for him at that time and could use it for replacements.

This is why Rednapp gets stick for leaving clubs in a poor state, cos he signs experience who end up on good money, declining performance and no resale value.

How has he excelled in Europe when Celtic get knocked out so soon nearly every season?

Did you think Gary Hooper would be boss?

I'm not being difficult on purpose I just want you to look at it both ways.

He was Celtic's best performer in the CL. It was the first time he ever played in the CL and he was comfortable at that level that's what I'm saying. Celtic were awful in that campaign but he wasn't. Here's a video of him.

I think Gary Hooper is quite decent. I was never a massive fan but he's a good instinctive finisher. The type who, in the correct set up, can score at least 8-10 PL goals per season. Not sure what he's got to do with this though. I'm telling you this guy is a rolls royce player with no real weaknesses. I've watched him every week for the past 2 years, I've watched EPL football avidly ever since I was a kid, he WILL cut it mate.

With the way we play we need players at the back who are commanding and can bring the ball out with confidence. He fits the bill completely.
The only reason I harp on about him so much is because he's a fantastic player who will be a star in England, and I'd rather it be in an Everton jersey than a Southampton one. We're losing out here.

He's using an older player who's also gash to compare and make Lennon look a better signing

I like Lennon by the way, but as people have already said, it's a signing that doesn't address our glaring issues

I actually think Navas is quite good. My point was that he was older than Lennon and has lost none of his pace
