What the table were teams have overspent on average players whereas we've got two very good, amazing almost, deals for Deulofeu & Cleverely?

Yes we've spent £4m and we need to spend more but the Spending Table is a load of tosh.

The way he's being lauded, I was expecting a lot better than that.

i guess the huge worry i have is the fact that martinez talks about a very specific type of player to sign.

And then refuses to put any of our current players in that role to make his tactics work.

And then the team struggles because the main part of the plan so to speak hasn't been signed, and 2 years later they still haven't been bought.

Would it be so crazy to play someone there and perhaps try and make the tactics work before signing the fabled cog that will make the machine work?

92 apps for Basel, 18 goals.52 apps for Bayern, 11 goals, 15 apps for Inter, 1 goal.

They were all in the domestic leagues.

Keep in mind only 26 of those Bayern apps were starts and 8 of those Inter apps were starts. He was subbed off too in a lot of those starts as well, very rarely did he play a whole 90 minutes. Those stats can be quite deceiving.

Lennon's just spoke to Bill with regards to our future transfer spend in this window...

Lennon and Evans in would be great news. Lennon's drive was certainly missed on saturday and Evans will be absolutely fine pressing Jags and Stones for a place. We would have been in much better position if they were here at start of last season. Problem is they have been discussed to the point that they won't even feel like signings. Maybe it is naive but the mood of the supporters does matter and surely both of these could have been in place in July.
