Yeah, if we really wanted him we would have got him. It's not like 12m and 70k is out of our budget. Probably spend that on Austin (wages might be lower, but you get the point)

I'd like you to be right mate but that we didn't really want or we'd have tried harder is the kind of thing we read from the RS in the summer * . Given three respectable journalist covered the same day with the same story it looks like there was at least some interest so it's at least a little disappointing.

*PLEASE NOTE that's not me calling you a kopite.

.....thinking about the wide player debate, Deulofeu is what we need if we are pushing up the top end of the table, he can create and score vital goals to enable us to win matches. Lennon is what we need if we are in the dog fight at the bottom of the table, he can put in an amazing shift to enable us not to lose matches.

I wonder which one will play more.
I'm guessing that will be down to the sterling work our top team at Finch Farm.

Everyone keeps banging on about Yarmolenko. Take a moment and think. Why hasn't he been picked up by anyone yet if he is everything some of you say he is on here? Something about him must be off because no one as far as we know have gone in for him.

Need to get players in and hope Lennon and Evans aren't the only two we get before the window closes. Need more.

I think the likes of Austin and Kane have to prove it was no one season wonder. The asking price for Austin who is no spring chicken is too high for a one good season player. In my humble opinion.

'One good season player', thats wrong.
You can say that about Harry Kane, but not Charlie Austin. Apart from last Season Harry Kane struggled to score goals everywhere he played on loan, Charlie Austin has done nothing but score goals at every team he's played for.

Correct me if im wrong but every club Charlie Austin has played for he has a 1 in 2 ratio, thats impressive.

would say del & mirallas are deffo better than lennon, but to disregard what he did for us is a bit odd. He would be a very useful squad player for us, and FFS we are 1 game into the season and both Mirallas and Del are injured. Pienaar is done, and McGeady is awful. We need lennon,

I thought Lennon was more than decent for us when he came in. However, I thought, this summer, we would be bringing in players of the quality of Shaqiri, who, attitude problems aside, is a massive step-up in quality to Lennon. Agree with you on Pienaar and McGeady though. Pienaar may prove useful at times over the season before we say our goodbyes in July. McGeady, if he was 20/21 you would say that he has all the attributes to improve and become a top winger... sadly that will never happen. Was really hoping he would be the make-weight in any Van Dijk deal! :(

He is very highly rated by his club and is on final year contract, so maybe Kiev are pricing him out at the moment. I suspect their price will come down nearer to deadline day, and I would be surprised if he is a Kiev player on September 1st. One thing is for sure, unless Billy finds 15m stuffed at the back of his sofa, there's is no chance we are going to buy him!

how many seasons in the Premier League? 1, that is what i'm basing it on, scoring for fun at other levels is a different animal.

Yarmolenko please. I reckon we could het him for around 10-15m. What a player he could be for us

He was my #1 dream signing before the summer but I didn't think he'd be a realistic option, but now it seems Stoke are trying to get him as well. If there's any chance he'd come we should be straight in there
