So let's recap.

Martinez has said very publicly that he wants to bring in a striker, a number 10, and a central defender. None of which is dependent on the sales of any players.

Since then we've missed out on one target, Shaqiri. There've been rumours and frenzied betting - but no confirmation of any actual bids by the club - on Austin, Evans and Lennon.

In other words, Martinez has got targets, but we have very little idea of who they are. And he's presumably got the resources to bring them in, whether we're talking permanent deals or loans.

So why the hell is everyone lining up to pass judgement now ? Can't we just wait and see who Martinez is targeting and whether or not he's successful ? I'd love to know what strikers we're looking at, and even if we're talking loan deals on deadline day I know I'll feel very different if Martinez lands a quality striker and another attacking player.
I say this every 50 pages or so but nobodies listening mate, it's all about the fume.

Ok hold on it was an open goal tap in. Besides that in the game he hasn't shown anything we're missing. Hes been kinda poor imo.
all i said was he tied the game. never thought he was coming here, sevilla a more attractive option atm. back to back europa winners, in CL this year, better chance of getting back again there as well

It's crazy risky leaving it all til deadline day. We were about 5 minutes away from making a right mess of the Lukaku and McCarthy deals.
It's not like we haven't made a mess of things before by leaving it too late - the Fer window, the Ofoe one. Fellaini one sneaked in by seconds.

It's no way to run one of the top 20 football clubs in the world in all honesty.

I think the issue is more around us starting the season unprepared (again). By the time these players (if we do get any) come in and settle we could be way down the league, especially given the next 4 or 5 games.

If Roberto had targets lined up then they would have come in before the Watford match, this, coupled with the fact that he always goes back for players he's worked with before, makes me think that he isn't the best when it comes to identifying transfer targets.

been played out of position in the right wing then the manager had a go at him for 'over complicating things' and barely picked him after that.
they bought a number 10, then tried to chain him to the wing and told him to just knock crosses in. he lost heart, they lost faith.

Yeah I got the impression that he overcomplicates things, got some great skill but a bit over keen to use it. If he matures a bit and realises there's a time and a place then he could be a great player. However if he doesn't like being played out of position then he won't like it here

If Bobby's after a Number 10, he'll play him as a Number 10.

lol I never said he was going, look back over my posts. I had always said him signing depended on playing time and there were other clubs (with Spurs being a major one at one point) interested in him. I don't have time to piss about pretending to know things, which is why I asked, considering we've missed out on so many of our targets, who's left?

Targets? The only confirmed one appears to be Ogbonna, the rest is pure, unadulterated speculation.

Who's left? Jesus wept....are there only 3 players in the universe?

There is some absolute twaddle posted during the transfer window.
