Ok hold on ... The WC game was not down to him that's silly ... Germany are one of the best teams imaginable and Brazil's defence while good going forward was always going to have trouble going against that type of organized but class team also not to mention the fact that the talisman Neymar was out and he was asked to fill in. Also his struggles at his current club could be down to a lot I'm just saying that if we do end up signing him I'll be awaiting his first few performances before judging.
Still 2nd choice !

Van Dijk would be a great buy but Soton would have the edge on us here with Koeman, I've said it from day one Evans is nailed on for us. Lennon still a strong possibility but we would get him for after next year ala Cleverly this year.

It's how we Roll.

I do buy into Roberto's 'golden generation' ideal. Maybe we could see Browning and Galloway playing either side of Jagielka? It would kind of stick two fingers up to Mourinho to say "thanks for the £40m, but we've got another two coming off the production line who are going to be just as good anyway!"

Galloway fills me with hope, I think he will emerge as the successor, not sure whether he should be thrust into the actions immediately or whether he is ready, Browning played better on Sun then I have seen him in under age games - but the jury is out on him for me thus far mate.

I'd sleep easier overall with someone like Fonte coming in, but would be open to Galloway being given a go. I suppose the current context and my concern though is that he's injured and our fixtures are dire untill game week 10. Not the best context to give him a run in a "new position".

37 years a season ticket holder and for the first time I'm beginning to waver. This next 7 days of the transfer window will have a major impact of my sense of comnitment going forward. Never thought I'd say that.
Hearing you loud and clear. Played well on Sunday and lots of positive transfer talk all weekend and now a new low for me ...... Really worried about our club now !!

I travelled home from Southampton match and our performance restored my pride (after Watford) and coupled with Stones looking like he would stay I got hopeful of some signings (3 it was said). Then slowly I started to become concerned at the lack of quality in the players we were looking at/linked with and the Yarmelenko situation. Then Stones does this. I'm seriously focused on our Board, Roberto, and how we play this one and who we sign over the next week. Like I said (or implied) I'm beginning to get tired of the same old same old virtually every August.

Even with a potentially large budget we are still being linked with vomit-inducing names:

Fazio, Evans, Moses can F right off.

Not good enough.

Agree mate. Same old sums it up ... Getting embarrassing now ... Needs a big shake up at board level
