He can play as a attacking midfielder. Just don't think he's the level of player that would take us to the next level.

To be fair Dutch you've probably seen him more than me. Seen him a fair bit for Swansea and a couple times for Napoliwhere he was always a CM.

Neat and tidy player though with and eye for goal.

Lennon will only come in McGeady is sold IMO. Not sure we need him as a priority. We need a creative player comfortable at No.10 or on one of the flanks, and probably a back up ST - taken Mori as done.

that rodriguez from uruguay will be a backup striker

The Yarmolenko signature would be so envigorating for a club whose fans have so long been used to eating at the lower tables.

On the top of staying strong over Stones and signing Del Boy, the Board would have for once done a good job and offered the fan base real hope of competing.

The next four days will be the acid test of the Board. A crap, mediocre buy like de Guzman would be a real downer but a luxury footballer like the Ukranian and we will be humming.

I think he will be mate. One of the main reasons we get carved open to easy for my liking is we don't defend from the front. It's a tactic Martinez definitely sets his players out not to do so when a team breaks on us there's usually one of the full backs out of position, no wingers tracking back, striker and 2nd striker out of position and then centre back gets dragged out of position .

Only player who really balances this out is Lennon because he's a lot like Pienaar as in he understands when it's time to stick or twist.

Skill wise he's no upgrade on Mirallas or Del but tactics wise I think he will be used for specific games. Not an overwhelming signing but one which I understand if it happens.

For me that would make -

Funes Mori
Lennon
?

Hoping the last one isn't De Guzman. I rate him as a decent player but just no where near what we are currently looking for.

Hoping it's someone class who hasn't really been mentioned yet but who we will all agree will make a difference.

Don't think Inter have secured Perisic yet and even though he ain't a playmaker he could certainly knuckle down the left wing position as his own freeing up the more creative players to rotate in the 2nd striker role.

I'd only add to that by saying whoever the creative player is, something we've missed in the absence of Pienaar is someone who can just retain possession in the final third - so often an attack is on and killed by Lukaku dropping back to receive the ball/Ross etc... and it leads straight to a counter attack for the opposing team.

We need to get shot of McGeady. He is a total waste of a wage, and if we could somehow get anything between £2m and £4m for him we'd be making a HUGE profit. With him gone we would need to bring in another winger, and Lennon would be a good upgrade.

The sticking points would be his fee and his wages, both of which would need to drop from where Spurs have set them. He's just not worth £9m.
