Wasnt consistent in that role though, could have the odd brilliant game then a couple of so so matches, far more consistent and sheer unplayable at times when behind the striker

That was true of his first season with us, after that he was consistently one of our best players in either role.

People love to rewrite history. Fellaini was monstrous, just lacked consistency.

Had most of his best games in the middle of the park. The one man demolition of city, complete with Bellamy-taunting pirouette, comes to mind.

Fellaini is literally the best player in the world at controlling the ball and bringing it under control. Unlike Kone who hits it anywhere but goal bound..
