Apparently he has a long standing shoulder injury that means clubs are reluctant to pay the 15m that QPR are demanding

Austin failed a medical at Hull City back in 2013, when he was at Burnley. That is believed to have boiled down to his shoulder. And the 25-year-old missed a chunk of QPR’s promotion from the Championship a year later after damaging the bone and cartilage in his shoulder, an injury which required surgery.

Useful info that. Didn't realise he had those issues with shoulder. Has he had spells out with that in last few years?

I'd like us to get a Coutinho-style player who's not afraid to play the positive ball in the final third when it's on, cover at centre back, a winger and a right back.

I'm guessing it's pretty unlikely we'll get 4 players in though.

Would love to see a back 5 of...

Coleman - Jags - Stones - Williams - Baines

Watching Stones with a free reign to bring the ball out of defense would be sic! With a quality CB signed, Stones would also give excellent cover at RB. If the unthinkable happens, would need to replace Stones with 2 players rather than one.

Galloway and Browning pick up a lot of mentions but rarely Pennington. Anyone got an idea how the club rate him? Did well on loan I believe.

If Lukaku gets injured, I wonder if Martinez sees young Ross filling in there? After his comments last season, his ability to step round a defender and the decision making removed (just kick it in the goal lid...), could see that working well.

I believe Dowell is rated by Martinez and his position is the playmaker, so can see Martinez wanting an experienced player in there, alongside Kieren and Ross. Who though, I have no idea... Can't seemed to get interested watching anyone but Everton...

Fed up of this window and can't wait for it to close. Forgetting rumours about players leaving. 2 very clear areas needed to fix - CB is vital and badly needed as we have no cover. Galloway and browning could both do it but need more experience and it would end up being barry - all the talk about playmaker for is not the biggie. Another striker much more important - someone who can play on there own or sit of Rom - plenty of strength in midfield now so think this would be the better road. Austin for me if the shoulder injury is fixed would be good - Rhodes at Blackburn is another player I am amazed is not in the premiership but I am sure there is a reason so maybe not the answer - Borini from RS is another who could step up - very badly treated by Brenda I think and may have a point to prove ..the board need to come up with some money and quickly ......
