the thing with austin is the same as what i said about rondon a few hours back. up until a couple of days ago martinez wasn't seriously exploring the possibility of getting another striker. the only way i could see us splashing the fee is if we don't buy the playmaker permanently and instead loan one. we haven't got money growing on trees so i doubt we're going to be spending £40m on the 3 players. well i highly doubt that's our budget, it's probably more £25m ish. if you loan the playmaker and buy the striker outright you're going to be playing the striker more.

seeing as there was no real interest two days ago, i doubt our manager is going to just decide that we need a whole new formation 3 days before the season. i'd like austin, who knows it could be a buy now, pay next summer deal, but i have my doubts.

If we had to, do the opposite. Splash the cash on playmaker definetely. Loan either the CB/ striker. Buy the other.

Rummenigge hints at Shaqiri row
By Football Italia staff

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said Inter told him why they want to get rid of Xherdan Shaqiri “but I cannot reveal that information.” The Swiss international only arrived from Bayern Munich in January, on loan with mandatory option to buy for €18m, but is already transfer-listed.

Bayern Munich CEO Rummenigge was asked about the situation and hinted at something behind this story.
“Why do Inter want to sell Shaqiri so quickly? They did tell me, but I cannot reveal that information. No comment.”
There have been reports of trouble behind the scenes between Shaqiri and Coach Roberto Mancini, who criticised his work rate.

Inter tried to send him to Stoke City, Schalke 04 or Wolfsburg, but so far Shaqiri has rejected every option.

Doesnt sound like the type of player Bobby is looking for....he is claas tho.

Could do w Honda and Austin. Then maybe get Lennon on the cheap and loan Evans.

Honestly, striker makes me nervous and I like Austins hustle and nose for the goal. Needs to be 10 mil or less though....

If we could somehow get qpr to take mcgeady or Kone in return.... Well that would be delightful.

Realize I'm dreaming and that by October due to injuries both Kone and mcgeady will be starting.

Am I wrong or is Austin a poacher? Never struck me as a well rounded footballer. Wasn't one of our major issues service to the striker?

Austin is not coming to us, stop getting your hopes up. We don't have the money, unless we sell Stones.

Spurs or Newcastle, same for the alpine Messi.

......there's certainly been money on 'Everton -Charlie Austin's next club' because it's listed as one of the most popular bets on Oddschecker headlines.
